If you want an implant later, this is why we recommend a bone graft after an extraction.

After a tooth is pulled, the bone that supported it can shrink or heal more softly. A socket preservation bone graft fills that space and protects it while your body heals, so you have stronger bone to place an implant in the future. Save this for your extraction consult.

Dental abscesses are high-risk infections that can affect your jaw, neck, and overall health. Unlike small skin irritations, a dental abscess rarely heals on its own and requires expert care to remove the infection and relieve pressure. We break down the symptoms of tooth and gum abscesses and how they are treated.

Don't ignore the pain. Read more here:

Day 3 is the trap day after dental work and most people mess it up.

Day 3 after wisdom teeth or implants is usually the worst because swelling peaks and you wake up behind on meds. Be sure to stay ahead of the pain, ice early, and do not stay in bed all day. Also, this kind of pain is not typical for one just implant. This looks more like a full set of implants, which hits way harder. Save this so Day 3 does not surprise you.

When your patient asks “How was dental school?” 🤣😂. In all seriousness, dental school was hard but you know what they say. You work hard, you play hard”.

Thinking about Jaw Surgery? Read this first. ⚠️

It’s a huge decision, and honestly? It’s not for everyone. If you just want straight teeth, there are easier ways to get there. 🦷✨

But if you’re struggling with:
✅ A bite that doesn’t meet
✅ Difficulty chewing
✅ Jaw asymmetry
✅ Severe overbite/underbite
..then the "juice is definitely worth the squeeze." 🍋 The discomfort lasts a couple of weeks, but the functional change lasts a lifetime.

Before you book, ask yourself: What is my goal?

Wait… can dental implants actually give me a facelift? 🤔

The short answer: No. 🚫 But the long answer is a lot more interesting.

Think about what happens when someone takes their dentures out: the face looks sunken, and wrinkles appear. That’s because your teeth (or implants!) provide the structural "scaffold" for your lips and face.

While implants won't tuck skin like plastic surgery, they DO restore the volume that keeps you looking youthful. 🦷✨

“Does everyone need their wisdom teeth out?” Technically, no. But leaving impacted or crowded wisdom teeth can lead to gum infections, jaw pain, crowding, and cavities in neighboring teeth. If you’re unsure, get an evaluation; the earlier, the easier. Save this for later.

“8 weeks to heal?” Not usually. Most corrective jaw surgery recoveries are about 4 weeks:
Week 1: swelling + full liquids
Week 2: swelling down, off strong meds
Week 3: soft mechanical diet (pasta, eggs), pain mostly gone
Week 4: no swelling, back to normal(ish)
Save this for your timeline.

Under 21 and have impacted wisdom teeth? Do it now. Younger = smaller roots, less risk to the nerve, easier surgery, faster recovery. Waiting until 25+ can mean bigger roots, tougher extractions, and longer downtime.
