Two Penn Design Alumni, John Carr and Marco Federico led the restoration of Benjamin Franklin's grave marker at Christ Church Burial Ground, a prominent historical landmark where the University's founder has rested for more than 225 years.
Together, Penn Design grads Carr and Federico form a historical conservation powerhouse, combining the fine-tuned skills of the artisans of yesteryear with modern engineering know-how. They knew restoring the memorial was an interdisciplinary undertaking that Franklin himself would appreciate, as several scientific and engineering factors and techniques went into its preservation for generations to come.

The Opening Reception of the Tulsa Artists Coalition 29th Annual Member Show was held June 2, 2017, at the Hardesty Art Center, in the heart of the Brady Arts District. There were a number of amazing artists, including Penn Alumna, Nicole White, MFA '09. The event was part of the Brady Arts District's First Friday Art Crawl. This event was a partnership of the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa with the Tulsa Artists Coalition (TAC). The TAC Gallery has been a fixture in the Brady Arts District for over 20 years and continues to host monthly exhibitions of contemporary art by emerging and established artists. This year's Member Show was juried by artist Kristal Tomshany. We are pleased to note that Nicole White's art work won a juror's choice award. She is shown below with Paul G. Dentiste, AICP, FIBA, President, of the Penn Alumni Club of Tulsa. Thanks to Penn alumni, friends, and everyone else who attended this event!
