Recently I ran across a post from another small business owner that does the same service as I, and they were trying to drag my business, my name down... At first I was a tad offended 😮, but then I looked at the date, which was from 5 years ago, and then I thought well obviously it didn't affect my business AT ALL 🙏, as it is still going strong but it did make me do some thinking..
Being a woman and a small business owner is a struggle in today's world, especially providing a service for others, word of mouth is EVERYTHING, and in the beginning I wasn't sure it would even take off, defenitely had lots of sleepless nights wondering if I was doing the right thing walking away from a secure job, with benefits and retirement, and knowing this service was provided by vets and another small business owner, however I took a leap of faith and it flourished unbelievably well. And there were times when clients said they used so and so before and were not satisfied with results, and not ONE TIME did it cross my mind to speak ill or negative about the other businesses, I just went about the job I was hired to do. But seeing that post the other day made me think ... how often we as professionals and women come into a situation where we could easily slam or degrade another business/owner, but why would we? Honestly, what is the point, if you know you are doing your job correctly and thoroughly and have happy customers, isnt that enough? As hard as it is To get ahead in today's economy, why try to bring another business down? Stay PROFESSIONAL, stay CLASSY!
