Thereās something important I want people to understand about me and the care I provide through Bona Fide Hygiene Care.
I didnāt just ābecome a hygienist.ā Iāve spent nearly 25 years in the dental field, beginning in dental assisting long before becoming a dental hygienist over 12 years ago. My background spans pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, cosmetic and general dentistry, surgical dentistry, removable appliances, impressions, whitening trays, nightguard fabrication, and full-mouth surgical cases in hospital surgery centers. At one point, I held credentials at three separate surgery centers assisting in advanced dental procedures.
Today, I hold an Expanded Practice Dental Hygiene license in Oregon, along with permits in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration. Iām also a certified herbalist, which deeply influences my passion for holistic and prevention-focused care.
But beyond credentials, what matters most to me is how people feel in my chair. I have extensive experience supporting patients with dental fear, trauma, and shame around oral health. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I tend to notice details others may miss; not just clinically, but emotionally too. I genuinely try to meet people where they are, without judgment.
Bona Fide Hygiene Care is also proud to be a certified Safe Space, an NGLCC and ORPIB affiliated business, and LGBTQIA+ owned.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: thoughtful, skilled, prevention-centered care with kindness, transparency, and humanity at the forefront. š¤
