We want to welcome Dr. Chavez to our office! He will be starting in July! Here are some fun facts about him that will help our patients and their parent's get to know him better....
Hi, I’m Dr. Daniel Chavez. I am excited to get to know you and your families and be part of the community. I attended college at Weber State University where I received my bachelor degree. From there, I went on to school at the University of Utah School of Dentistry where I focused most of my dental clinical education in pediatrics. I have been living in Utah for more than 10 years now and call it home. I have a beautiful wife and three happy girls. We enjoy outdoor activities and playing sports.
As a parent, I understand how big and important of a decision it is when it comes to your child’s oral health. It is of my utmost importance to help your child develop a positive attitude about going to the dentist. Although at times, this can be challenging, I am very passionate about making sure every child leaves the office with a positive experience and a smile.
I’m very excited about the future opportunities of creating a positive impact on every patient’s lives. My personal mission is to treat every patient that comes into the office, the same exact way I would treat my own family.

Dr. Johnson and his team are excited to welcome our Oral Surgeon, Dr. Shaun Heward to our office! He specializes in wisdom teeth removal in adolescence starting as young as 14 years old. He strongly recommends removing wisdom teeth while children are developing and while they are young and healthy. If this treatment is delayed, patients typically experience pain, infection, potential tooth decay and bone loss to adjacent teeth when left untreated. The outcomes of this surgery are far more predictable and optimal at a young age versus having surgery later on. To schedule an appointment in our office, please call 801-253-8866.

Shaun Heward was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. Attended Alta High School and completed his undergraduate at University of Utah. During this time he worked as a dental Laboratory technician making crowns and bridges. He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he completed dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he began medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School. While at the University of Michigan, he also completed his internship in general surgery, residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was a chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heward has extensive surgical training in corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), tumors/cysts of the jaws, face trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, cleft lip and palate, face reconstruction and bone grafting. He is delighted to have moved back to Utah and working with Platinum Dental Services. He also has a passion for serving others abroad and continues to treat less fortunate patients on mission trips overseas. When Dr. Heward is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, biking, shooting, gardening, wood working and cooking.
