When Gagnon's Shoe Repair opened 75 years ago, it was just one of more than a dozen cobblers competing to work on every pair of shoes walking around Salem.

Things are starting to take shape over at 244 Elliot St in Beverly. Across the street from the old United Shoe Machinery Co.. One of their machines is still in use in our shop.

We are on the move. You can see where Rich has walked and stood for many years doing work, wearing down the original beige floor to green subfloor. We will see you at 244 Elliot St in Beverly where he will begin wearing down that floor!

👢👞👡 WE ARE MOVING 👟🥾👠

Dear valued customers and residents of Salem,

It is with a heavy heart that after over 75 years of business in the city of Salem, our family has had to make the decision to RELOCATE our business to Beverly. Over the next couple of months we will be making the transition to our new location at 244 Elliot St in Beverly, near Starbucks and the Cummings Center. We will remain open and operational in Salem until we complete the build-out/move. We will update our facebook when we know the exact date.

I know you are wondering what happened. The new owner of our current location has raised our rent significantly now that they are building condos above us and we are unable to afford it while remaining in business. After a six month long exhausting search, we were unable to find another location in Salem that can financially and practically accommodate a small family run business like ours.

The good news. Our new location has abundant FREE parking, it is only a short ways over the bridge, it is easier to access than downtown Salem, and it is much better equipped for our patients with disabilities.

We thank the residents of Salem and hope to continue to see all of our great customers that have been part of our three generational family business over the years. We also look forward to meeting our new community in Beverly.
