Dear Valued Patients
I hope this letter finds you and your families in good health and spirits. As we enter that time of year when it is customary to express sentiments of Thanksgiving, I would like to take this opportunity to offer some personal words of gratitude as I share an important update regarding the future of our dental practice.
It is with a shared sense of gratitude, and a bit of nostalgia, that after 43 wonderful years of serving generations of my neighbors in the Rockville, Gaithersburg, and the surrounding central Montgomery County communities, I have made the decision to transition our practice.
However, this is not goodbye – as part of the transition I’m entering semi-retirement, and you can be assured that you will continue to receive the same quality of care that you have come to expect from this dental practice. From the inception of the practice in 1981, it has been my mission to provide state-of-the-art dental care in a relaxed and friendly environment, treating each of my patients as I would my very own family members.
First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Over the last 43 years it has been an incredible privilege to care for you and your families’ dental health. The trust and loyalty you have shown me and the practice are something I will always cherish. Building long-lasting relationships with so many of you has been one of the greatest rewards of my career, and I am deeply thankful for your unwavering support.
Let me explain what this transition means for you. I feel an incredible sense of responsibility to each of you, and prior to making a transition, two conditions were of paramount importance to me: first, that your continued care be entrusted to only the most qualified dentist and staff; and second, that you would feel confident and enthusiastic in continuing your care with this practice when I fully retire.
I’m excited and happy to introduce you to your new practice owner, Shannen Manlucu, DDS, who I’m confident can be entrusted with your continued dental care. As I previously mentioned, this is not goodbye, and I look forward to continue seeing you at the practice for the foreseeable future.
Dr. Manlucu brings a patient-centric approach to dentistry supported by deep clinical experience. Most recently, Dr. Manlucu has served as an associate dentist leading two established practices in Baltimore County. Prior to practicing in Maryland, Dr. Manlucu worked in New York City in comprehensive care private practices after completing her general dentistry residency at NYU Langone Brooklyn. Dr. Manlucu is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Second District Dental Association, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Her commitment to excellence in dentistry is unparalleled – she shares my clinical and patient-focused philosophy.
Dr. Manlucu is excited to continue bringing state-of-the-art technology and services to the practice making each of your visits comfortable and efficient in a relaxed and friendly environment. Currently living in Washington, DC, Dr. Manlucu is a Maryland native and like me, moved here to practice dentistry at a similar age as when I first opened the doors of this practice in 1981. I know that she will be here to care for you and your family for generations to come.
As I have gotten to know Dr. Manlucu, she has impressed me the most with her warmth of character, radiating optimistic energy, and her comprehensive, patient-first care approach to dentistry. Over the past 43 years, many of you have shared that our practice feels like family — a place where comfort, trust, and genuine care are at the center of every visit. Hearing you feel at ease and confident in our care has been one of the greatest compliments and joys of my career. It has always been my goal to create a welcoming and trustworthy environment, and I look forward to seeing the lasting relationships we've built grow and expand with Dr. Manlucu.
I’m certain you will find Dr. Manlucu’s approach to be warm, caring, and professional; and I feel fortunate to have found such capable hands for me to confidently transition the practice. Importantly, the entire team will remain in place, and you can expect to see the same familiar faces and enjoy the same welcoming atmosphere when you visit. Thank you again for allowing me the privilege of caring for you and your families. I am excited for the future of the practice and your continued care under Dr. Manlucu’s leadership. I look forward to seeing you at the practice soon.
