If your child can tie their shoes, does that mean they're ready to floss on their own? ๐๐ฆท
Not necessarily!
One of the most common questions we hear from parents is, "When can my child start flossing by themselves?" The answer isn't based on age aloneโit's based on coordination, consistency, and whether they're able to floss effectively between every tooth.
For many kids, that means parents may need to help (or at least supervise) longer than they expect.
A few tips:
โจ Make flossing part of the daily routine
โจ Try kid-friendly floss picks
โจ Turn it into a game or challenge
โจ Check in to make sure they're reaching every tooth
The goal isn't perfectionโit's building healthy habits that last a lifetime.
