This is Rachael. I am JUST starting to work on Sean's April-June schedule. Sean has been doing well keeping up with our local clients, but this was a little much for him to tackle. Right now, I have 92 appointment requests and I'm starting with the oldest. I sent out emails over the last two days and will continue to work through everyone ASAP! Please be patient. I hope to have this completed within the next week, so please check your email AND Spam folder (email HATES me).

Lizzy, the newest member of our family, got her vaccines, a microchip, and spayed today. Our Vet called her "a horrible cat" which we completely agree with. Lizzy has been here for two weeks and this is HER HOUSE. She arrived at the Vet today and announced that she now owns the clinic. Luckily, she is afraid of nothing and is VERY food motivated. We are enjoying the quite tonight before she returns to terrorizing our other pets and destroying our plants.

I thought our clients might enjoy a sweet story.

Yesterday, Sean and I went out of town. We stopped to get gas on the way home and I saw this cat at a truck stop sleeping under the washer fluid stand. I asked the cashier about her and she said she was semi-feral and had been there a few months. I asked if I could have her and she said I could, if I could catch her. The kitty instantly bonded with Sean and this was our ride home. They go first thing in the morning to our Vet to get scanned for a chip and hopefully squeeze in vaccines if they have time.

Just a quick up-date from Sean and I. We are both back to work after a MUCH needed vacation. This was a bit of a sad Christmas. The week of Thanksgiving, a dear friend passed away while diving. Then the first week of December, my Uncle Larry passed away from a heart attack. Then 3 days before Christmas, my cousin Chris died of cancer. Sean and I elected to take some much needed time off to make memories with those we love. I believe after tonight, we have gotten back with everyone, so PLEASE check your junk folders, because email hates me! Cheers to a better year!!

Important Update for Our Valued Clients

With the recent EHV-1 cases reported in the region, we want to reassure everyone that we are taking strict precautions to keep your horses safe.

As an EqDT, I follow consistent, year-round biosecurity measures, as there's always a risk of spreading illnesses between barns. With the current outbreak, we continue being vigilant. Our standard precautions include:

✨ Sanitizing all equipment thoroughly between each horse
✨ Wearing clean gloves for every horse and changing them between patients
✨ Disinfecting boots, clothes, and hands before each barn
✨ Avoiding shared water buckets, halters, or lead ropes
✨ Limiting contact between horses from different barns
✨ Postponing visits if exposure is even suspected, rescheduling appointments if any horse shows signs of an illness

Your horses’ health and safety are always our top priority. If you have concerns about appointments, exposures, or biosecurity, please reach out, we’re here to help you navigate this safely and confidently.

Together, we can reduce the risk and keep our equine partners healthy.

Sean stepped out of his role as EqDT and helped me present today to a group of Homeschoolers about "Creepy Crawly Things." We brought some tarantulas, regular spiders, a scorpion, frogs, a leopard gecko, and my dear female hognose snake, who was an absolute hit. All my critters were on their very best behavior and the kids will hopefully leave with an appreciation for things they may have been scared of previously. Education leads to conservation
