“We can't give you the best care possible if we don't understand who you are.”

Getting to know you really is part of the process.
Understanding how you communicate and what matters to you is an important part of helping you move through treatment successfully.

You're not just a diagnosis.
You're not just a treatment plan.
And you're definitely not just a set of teeth.

You're a person - and your care should feel personal.

Have you ever been to a healthcare provider who really took the time to understand you? 👇

Your dental work should come with a plan for how long it’s going to last.

Crowns. Veneers. Fillings. Onlays.
Getting the treatment is only part of the equation.

The goal isn't just to make something look good today.
It's to make thoughtful decisions that support your smile for years to come.
If you're investing in your smile, make sure there's a plan to protect that investment.

The best dentistry isn’t about knowing the most. It’s about knowing how to think.

There will always be another course to take, another certification to earn, another technique to learn and another trend making its way through social media. 💭

But knowledge alone doesn’t make a great dentist.

Great dentistry requires the ability to question, observe, listen and think critically.

To recognize that every patient is different.
To understand that communication matters.
To know when a technique is appropriate - and when it isn’t.
To look beyond the obvious and consider the bigger picture.

Patients aren’t textbooks. They aren’t protocols. And good clinical decisions can’t always be reduced to a checklist.

Knowledge tells you what.
Wisdom tells you when, why, and for whom.

That distinction matters.

Because the goal isn’t to use every technique we know. It’s to have the clinical judgment to choose the right approach for the person sitting in front of us.

That’s what great dentistry looks like.

“I felt like every box was checked.”
Even after making huge changes in her life, something still wasn't right.

When you're dealing with multiple symptoms at once, it can be difficult to explain just how much they affect your quality of life.

It's not always one big thing.
Sometimes, it's the accumulation of everything.

The pain. The poor sleep. The discomfort. The constant feeling that something just isn't right. And when you finally start getting answers, you realize how much energy it took just to get through each day.

Your quality of life matters. And you deserve to ask questions when your body is telling you something isn't right. 💭

You can spend years playing whack-a-mole with your health 👉
A headache here.
Jaw pain there.
Neck tension.
Poor sleep.
Muscle pain.

You treat one symptom, then another one appears.

And there's nothing wrong with managing symptoms when that's what someone needs. But when multiple pieces are involved, treating everything separately can sometimes leave you feeling like you're constantly chasing the next problem.

That's why looking at the bigger picture matters.
When the right factors are identified and addressed together, the impact can be greater than treating each piece in isolation.

The goal isn't just temporary relief. It's finding a path toward meaningful, lasting improvement. 💭

“I had been everywhere looking for answers.”
👉ENTs.
👉Neurologists.
👉TMJ specialists.
👉Dentists.
👉Orthodontists.
Yet the headaches, ear problems, sinus issues, and debilitating pain continued.
For years, the focus had often been on managing individual symptoms.

Sometimes, looking at the bigger picture is where the answers begin.
After moving to Nashville and being referred for a more comprehensive evaluation, our. began a new treatment journey.

Remember, you deserve more than simply learning to live with debilitating symptoms.
Sometimes, the most important step is finding someone willing to look deeper.

For some patients, jaw surgery may be an appropriate part of treatment. But it isn't always the first or only conversation worth having.

Jaw surgery is a significant procedure, and permanent changes deserve careful planning.
One approach can involve using an orthotic to help evaluate a more comfortable and stable jaw position without immediately making permanent changes to the teeth or jaw.

This allows us to learn.
👉 How does the joint respond?
👉How do the muscles respond?
👉Does this position improve comfort and function?
👉Will it support the patient's long-term needs?
Think of it as testing before making a permanent commitment.

Once there is a clearer understanding of what works for the individual patient, permanent options can then be discussed. This may include orthodontics, rebuilding the bite, or other appropriate appliances.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

The goal is to understand the possibilities, test carefully where appropriate, and create a plan around what serves the patient best.

For a long time, the goal was simple: straighten the teeth, correct the bite, create a beautiful smile 👉

But dentistry has the opportunity to look at more than the teeth themselves.
Jaw development.
Tongue posture.
Muscle function.
Joint health.
Breathing.
Sleep.
Facial growth.

A crowded smile can be a reason to look closer, not simply something to straighten.
That doesn't mean every crowded smile has the same cause, or that every patient needs the same approach. It means we have the opportunity to ask better questions before deciding what treatment should look like.

“I had no idea it was really this bad until I started to feel better.”
That sentence says so much. We slowly adapt to whatever becomes our normal.

When you've been tired for years, you may forget what it feels like to wake up refreshed. When you've lived with chronic pain, tension, headaches, or discomfort for long enough, your body learns to tolerate it. You don't always notice how much it's affecting you because it often happens gradually.

Sleep apnea is a great example.

Someone can struggle with poor sleep and disrupted breathing for years without realizing just how much it's impacting their day-to-day life. Then treatment begins, their breathing improves, their sleep becomes more restorative, and suddenly...
They feel like a different person.

The chronic pain world can work in a similar way.
As symptoms start to improve, one by one, you begin to realize just how much your body was carrying.
👉 More energy.
👉Less pain.
👉 Better sleep.
👉 More motivation.
👉 More of your life back

Sometimes you don't realize how unwell you've been until you finally start feeling better.

A child doesn’t suddenly start developing the day they get braces. 💭

Long before orthodontic treatment, their face, jaws, palate, tongue, muscles and breathing patterns are developing.

That’s why an early evaluation isn’t necessarily about starting treatment earlier.
Sometimes, it’s about understanding what’s happening while there is still time to observe development, monitor changes and identify whether further evaluation may be appropriate.

Remember, the goal isn't to treat a child as early as possible.
It’s to understand a child as early as possible.
