Getting kids excited about visiting the dentist is our passion. We truly love children and enjoy seeing them leave the dentist with a smile. They answered all of my questions and gave great advice, while also having fun! My daughter cried on the way home because she wanted to go back to the dentist!!! Why are my child’s new permanent teeth coming in yellow?

If you’ve noticed that your child’s new adult teeth look a little more yellow than their baby teeth, don’t panic! This is often completely normal.

Permanent teeth naturally have a slightly more yellow appearance because the enamel is a little more translucent. That allows the dentin (the layer underneath the enamel) to show through more clearly, and dentin has a naturally yellowish color.

When a new permanent tooth is coming in next to a bright white baby tooth, the difference can look even more noticeable. 👀🦷

So if your child’s new tooth looks a little yellow compared to their baby teeth, it doesn’t necessarily mean the tooth is dirty or that something is wrong.

Every smile is different, though, and if you notice a significant color change, spots, discoloration, or anything that concerns you, we’re always happy to take a look!

We’re proud to support and as they come together for an incredible day of music, marching, and performances! 🥁🎺

At Kids Teeth, we love being part of the communities we serve - and supporting local students is one of our favorite ways to do it. From the football field to the band room, these students put in countless hours of practice, dedication, and teamwork to bring their performances to life. 👏

We’re excited to cheer them on and see some amazing performances at this year’s Wando Band Invitational! 🎶

“We have been going to Kids Teeth for over a decade and have always found it to be wonderful. The people (desk staff, financial dept, technicians, and dentists) are both friendly and great at their jobs. Even when they had bad news (e.g. cavities or extraction-needed), they break the news in an empathetic and well-explained manner. While it says “Kids” on the door (and they have a play area for younger kids to wait in), you will often see teenagers getting their teeth done too. Dr. Will has been great!”
