We've had patients tell us they don't floss because they use mouthwash. We get it; it feels like it should work the same way.
It doesn't. Liquid can't physically dislodge the plaque that's packed between your teeth.
Mouthwash is genuinely useful for freshening breath, delivering fluoride, and reducing surface bacteria. But it works after flossing, not instead of it.
