Congratulations to our very own Stacy Roberts, Allegan KOHA Coordinator, who recently co-authored an article published in Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, a national publication for dental hygiene professionals.

The article, “Community Health Workers Are Making a Difference in Improving Oral Healthcare Access,” explores how community health workers help individuals overcome barriers to dental care through education, outreach, advocacy and care coordination.

This topic is especially important to MCDC’s mission of expanding access to dental care and closely reflects the work Stacy leads through our Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment Program, helping children and families access oral health education, assessments and needed care.

Ohhh heyyy, it's National Fresh Breath Day! Before you pop some mints to try and achieve that minty fresh aroma, remember that a foundation of good oral health hygiene is MOST important when it comes to fighting off bad breath. Brushing twice a day and flossing are critical to setting your breath up for success. Want to take it one step further? Consider using mouthwash, staying hydrated and tongue scraping.
