Starting September off strong with a capital S.
New school year, new backpacks, new routines. It’s the perfect time to reset your kid’s dental habits too, packing sugar-free snacks, sticking to a solid brushing routine, and getting those sealants done before the year gets busy.

A few small S’s now can save you from a big cavity later.

Not every cavity is created equal, especially when it’s front and center.

A cavity on a molar is invisible to everyone but us. A cavity on a front tooth is the first thing people see when your kid smiles, laughs, or talks. That makes restorations here a little different: we’re not just removing decay, we’re matching shade, translucency, and shape so the repair blends seamlessly into the smile around it.

This one required layering composite in a way that mimics natural enamel, built up in thin increments to recreate the way light actually passes through a healthy tooth. Done right, nobody should be able to tell where the damage was.

That’s the standard we hold every restoration to.

We didn’t build a dentist office. We built a place families actually want to come back to.

Long Beach has trusted us with something bigger than checkups. First visits, nervous first days that turned into confident ones, siblings growing up in the same chairs their older brothers and sisters sat in. That kind of trust doesn’t happen by accident.

Every wall, every face, every small detail here exists for one reason: to make this the version of the dentist your kid doesn’t dread.

We’re proud to be part of this community, and even more proud to be part of your family’s story.

Your child’s favorite snack might not be the problem.
How often they’re reaching for it could be.

When little teeth are exposed to snacks and sugary drinks throughout the day, they have less time to recover between each acid attack. Creating more intentional snack times is one simple way to help protect their enamel without making food feel restrictive.

Because healthy smiles aren’t about perfection. They’re about small habits that add up.

Charcoal toothpaste: yes or no? 🦷

Dr. Ramin’s take — the best toothpaste is the one your child will actually use. If charcoal is what gets them excited to brush twice a day, that’s a win worth taking.

That said, charcoal is abrasive, and enamel doesn’t grow back. For everyday brushing, a gentler fluoride toothpaste is the safer bet for little teeth.

So if it’s charcoal or nothing? Go with charcoal. If they’ll brush either way? Choose gentle.
