This past Saturday, Conestoga Oral Surgery proudly sponsored Iron-Leg Corp's Bionic Bowl, a charity football game that raises funds for children in need of prosthetic limbs. We were especially excited to have two of our surgical assistants, Randee and Erin, volunteer as cheerleaders for the event! 📣🏈

Thank you to Iron-Leg for hosting such an impactful event that makes such a difference in the lives of children and families in our community.

Our jaws stop growing around age 18, but those pesky wisdom teeth don’t always get the memo. Often, by the time they erupt in the late teens or early 20’s, there’s no room for them, leading to painful impactions or crowding of teeth.

That's why early evaluation is so important. A wisdom teeth exam during the teenage years allows your oral surgeon to monitor development, identify issues, and determine ideal treatment timing if removal is recommended. If your teen hasn't had an evaluation yet, now is the best time to schedule!

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet Randee! 🌟

Randee has been with Conestoga Oral Surgery for nearly six years as a surgical assistant to Dr. Bryce Hallinan. She enjoys connecting with her patients in a hands-on role and helping them feel comfortable throughout the surgical process. With 5 kids, 2 dogs, and a busy family life, Randee knows how to stay on the go! When she's not at work, you'll find her cheering on her children at sports and extracurricular activities, spending time at the park or pool, or fitting in a workout.

Why is it better to remove wisdom teeth at a younger age? 🦷
During the teen and early adult years, the roots of wisdom teeth are often not fully developed, and the jawbone is less dense. This makes the teeth easier to remove, recovery smoother, and healing faster.
Early evaluation, before the roots have fully formed, can make a big difference. If your teen is starting to develop wisdom teeth, scheduling an evaluation now can help prevent future problems before they become more complicated.
