☢️“I don’t want X-rays. There’s too much radiation.”

Well, that would hold true over 30 years ago, but today, not so much!

(I get it. I’m granola… “organic, pasture-raised and free of all the things“ in my household, BUT please keep reading.)

👩🏼‍⚕️The incidental findings pictured here were caught during a routine checkup and the patients had no symptoms:
dental abscess (infection) and internal resorption (a bad nerve depleting the inside of the tooth).

❗️If caught early, both of these conditions can be fixed! If you want to “wait till it hurts”, then go right ahead. I guess we’ll just have to take your tooth out.😬

🫵🏻The choice is yours!

🦷 Due to the highly focused beam and minimal radiation scatter, the ADA (American Dental Association) and radiology experts do not even deem it necessary to have our patients wear a lead apron anymore. The modern digital shift has reduced radiation exposure by 80-90% from the older, film X-rays.

💕So, if you see us taking routine X-rays without a lead apron, it’s because we actually do love you and know it’s not necessary! However, if you feel more comfortable, you can request one to be used.
