Before you crawl into bed… brush your teeth. 🪥✨

Brushing before bed isn’t just another thing on your nighttime checklist. It helps remove the food particles, plaque, and bacteria that have built up throughout the day.

And while you sleep, your salivary flow decreases, which means bacteria have more time to do their thing.

So make it a non-negotiable:
🦷 Brush for 2 minutes
🦷 Floss
🦷 Clean your tongue
🦷 Then call it a night

Your morning breath will thank you.

Hawaii will always feel a little like home. It’s where my dental journey started, and every time I’m back, I eat like I’m trying to make up for lost time. 🌺

Fresh poke, lilikoʻi, ANY plate lunch. Some are instant favorites, some are a “once was enough,” but I don’t regret a single bite.

I spend a lot of time thinking about what goes into our bodies. But food is also culture, connection, and joy. Real food, slowly, with people you love? That counts as wellness too.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten on vacation? Tell me below!

Just checking in... 👀

Diet Coke has no sugar. That’s not the same as no damage.

Diet cola sits around a pH of 3, which is well below the point where enamel starts to dissolve. It gets there with phosphoric acid and citric acid, and the citric acid is why diet cola can be more erosive than the regular kind. 🦷

One with lunch, finished, then done? Your saliva can recover from that. A can sipped from 9 to 1 keeps your teeth in acid all morning, and people who drink soft drinks more than twice a day are about four times more likely to lose enamel. Enamel doesn’t grow back.

Water does the opposite. It rinses the acid away, keeps saliva flowing, and gives your enamel the minerals it needs to reharden between meals.

The swap: water in the bottle you carry around all day. If the Diet Coke stays, have it with a meal, not across the afternoon.

That “silver” filling in your mouth may be something worth taking a closer look at. 🦷

Traditional amalgam fillings contain mercury, and mercury v***r can be released during everyday activities like chewing, grinding, and exposure to heat.

At Vitality Dental, we take a different approach.

We use composite fillings and offer SMART-certified mercury amalgam removal, following the IAOMT protocol designed to minimize exposure during the removal process.

For me, this is about more than just replacing a filling. It’s about looking at oral health as part of the bigger picture of your health.

If you’re already being intentional about what you put in and on your body, your dental care deserves that same level of thought.

Your mouth is part of your body. Let’s treat it that way. 🤍
