Happy Columbus Day! 🧭🗺️

He set out to discover new lands… We’re out here discovering new smiles! 😁

⛵️ No sailing required 😉 Just a little orthodontic adventure, some rubber bands, and maybe a few “Is it time to get my braces off yet?” questions! 😂

We can’t promise new lands, but we can help you discover a smile you’ll love! 😉

Ready to start your own smile adventure? Come see us at Texas Orthodontic Specialists! 🦷

In her defense... this is NOT the question she thought she was answering 😂 We changed the question behind the scenes and let’s just say her answer worked a little too well 💀

What is a separator?

Ever hear us say you’re getting separators (or spacers) and wonder what they actually do?
These tiny elastic rings are placed between your back teeth to gently create a little extra space. That space helps us comfortably fit the bands of your expanders or other orthodontic appliances around your teeth at your next appointment!

A few things to know:
* They may feel like you have food stuck between your teeth.
* Some soreness or pressure is normal.
* Avoid sticky or chewy foods while they’re in.
* Don’t floss where the separators are placed, you can accidentally pull one out!
* They’re temporary and usually only stay in for about a week.

And there you have it! A little space today helps make room for what’s coming next. 😉🦷
