Not too long ago, I took a mini trip to Thailand to enjoy some time off. It was a much needed break to recharge myself! Now I am feeling better than ever and am ready to finish this year strong!!!

Here is a combined before and after x-ray picture of patient who wish to have his metal fillings replace with white ones. The white patchy spots were where the metal fillings used to be and now they’re gone! I don’t normally replace metal fillings unless they are broken down or by request of my patient. In fact I still got some in my own mouth too and they’re doing fine!

More vacation pictures to come in the future. It feels good to be back!

A very kind patient who wanted her two front teeth to be longer. The first picture was her smile with the temporary crowns made from the shape of her original teeth. The second picture is her improved smile with the new ceramic crowns.

Emergency patient came in with pain on his upper left wisdom tooth( #16). No mobility, long roots with large decay on this one. Thought it was going to break, but I took my time (~30min) with the elevator in sequence and got it out intact. Patience paid off. Probably would have to spend more time fishing out the root tips if it breaks. #欲速則不達

Another awesome transformation!With the help of two new crowns and some minor adjustment on tooth proportion, a new smile was born!

The patient’s main concern was his inability to be able to chew food due to losing multiple upper teeth in the back from “cavities” and gum disease. A course of LANAP with a periodontist had been performed (along with many OHI sessions) to help optimize and stabilize patient’s gum health. The desire to preserve all existing teeth and to be able to chew ASAP was strong so after discussion we went with the removable route. By doing removable first also helps the dental provider to assess patient’s ability to maintain his oral hygiene long-term before going to the fixed route. Overall, functionally, patient was very pleased. Meanwhile, I was impressed by the progress made in the oral hygiene.
