A knocked-out permanent tooth should be stored in milk or saliva.

If it’s a permanent tooth, milk (or saliva) can help protect the root cells until your child gets emergency dental care. Time matters!

Bonus tip: Try to hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. And if you are able to, try to replant as soon as possible or call your dentist immediately.
