What Makes a Good Dentist for Kids?
Knowing dentistry is obviously important.
But knowing how to talk to a nervous 7-year-old? That's pretty important too. 😊
Dr. Italia takes the time to explain things, answer questions and help younger patients become comfortable before rushing into an exam.
Positive dental experiences when children are young can help shape how they feel about taking care of their teeth as they grow.

Your Tooth Doesn't Have to Hurt to Need Attention 🦷
Unfortunately, teeth aren't particularly good at sending early warning emails.
Some dental problems can develop without causing much discomfort initially. That's one reason routine dental exams are so important.
They give Dr. Italia an opportunity to look for changes before your tooth decides to announce the problem at 10 p.m. on a Saturday.
Preventive dentistry isn't particularly dramatic.
That's kind of the point. 😉

If you have a child who asks this question, you're definitely not the only parent hearing it.
Dr. Italia has a wonderful way with kids. He takes his time, explains what's happening in a way they can understand, and doesn't expect a nervous child to suddenly stop being nervous just because they're sitting in a dental chair.
Sometimes a little patience and kindness make all the difference.
We don't just want kids to make it through today's appointment. We want them to feel good about coming back.

Electric or Manual Toothbrush? 🪥

Good news:
You don't need the fanciest toothbrush on the planet to take care of your teeth.

A manual toothbrush can work very well when you're using good technique and brushing consistently.

An electric toothbrush can make thorough brushing easier for some people and may be particularly helpful if you tend to brush too quickly or struggle with dexterity.

The toothbrush you'll actually use correctly?
That's usually the better toothbrush.
