ssom is a muse for the jewelry I create, adding to an eclectic bouquet of one-of-a-kind pieces. For 12 years I have found and collected treasures from the sea, seedpods and beyond, and combined them with vintage, handmade and recycled materials to share my unique perspectives through jewelry. My teeth cuff and earrings are made up of fresh water pearls and a collection of my wisdom teeth. My most recent collection, “UrbanNoir” features trinkets like clocks, lockets, boxes, mirrors, wool balls, recycled-paper beads handmade by women in Uganda, filigree and ribbon along side raw stones, jingles and sea glass, strung from various chains and pearls. My “Garden Party” collection features mulberry paper, clay, resin, enamel and hand-made felt flowers strung on chain and cloth. All pieces have a metal tag hand stamped by me. I hope each piece tells a story of how art, culture, and the small things in life that make us happy are strung together and intertwined. Everything is designed, elaborated, and crafted by yours truly, a little flower child at heart.
