Small change... Big difference...
My artistic side emerges during these procedures. I feel like I’m painting, but instead of holding a brush, I’m holding a 15C blade. Enjoy!

This post is in honor of DentalXp and the PET research team. and others.
Congrats team Atlanta for an amazing 30 years anniversary and another successful dentalxp 2020 symposium!
I want to point out a few things on this amazing procedure: Partial extraction therapy (PET)
1- soft and hard tissue preservation.
2-soft tissue biotype transformation without connective tissue grafting
3. Predictable long term result

Now the patient is ready for her final restoration!

Patient presented with an extensive medical history of long term use of IV bisphosphonate and head/neck radiation. Explained to the patient the high risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) related to bisphosphonate and radiation exposure. After reviewing risk and benefit of the extractions, root submergence with root canal with gingival graft was the treatment of choice. Special thanks to for the root canal therapy :) hope you enjoy this case.

Thank you to all my 9k followers. You guys keep me motivated to take more photos and share more cases day by day. For this reason, I decided to share few facts about myself with all my new and old followers

* I was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt and I moved to the United States at the age of 17.
* My English was so bad, I spoke French and Arabic to everyone in my English speech class.
* I completed a pharmacy degree (Pharm. D) by the age of 23, but Pharmacy was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
* I was inspired by my mother’s cousin to do dentistry. I remember he quoted one day “dentistry for me is not a job, it is a hobby” and that clicked. He’s still practicing till today.
* I completed my Dental degree (DDS) in LSU New Orleans by the age of 27.
* I was between doing a prosthodontics or periodontics specialty, because two of my really good friends at the time, one was in a Prosthodontics residency and the other was Periodontics residency .perio but Perio won my heart!
* Graduated from LSU Periodontics in 2017 and it was the best decision of my life. I love what I do and I’m blessed to have pick this crazy route of 13 years of learning.
* That been said, learning is not over. I learn new techniques and treatments modality everyday.
* I’m married to my amazing wife Rola for 3 years and we’re blessed with a sleepless 3 months son Anthony.
* I love sports. I played basketball in high school and in the Armenian league (GAMK).

📸This is by far my favorite case of the month🙌🏼
👨🏻‍💻This sweet lady came to me with severe depression and no hope of getting her smile back. She’s on a fixed social security income (limited financially). She mentioned that she doesn’t like to leave her apartment much fearing people would notice her ugly teeth.
She presented with chronic generalized severe periodontal disease and massive gingival hyperplasia due to her calcium channel blocker and her poor oral hygiene/periodontitis.
😷Treatment:
Phase 1️⃣: full upper and lower arch extractions/alveoloplasty with gingivectomy.

Phase 2️⃣: after 4 weeks - upper early temporary denture with a lower All-on-4 with immediate loading.

Tongue-tie (Ankyloglossia) is a condition present at birth that restricts the tongue’s range of motion. Tongue-tie can affect the way the person eats, speaks and swallows. For infants breast-feeding can be a problem and inadequate nutrition for the baby.

Treatment: frenectomy is a procedure to remove the lingual frenulum. Stretching of the lingual fibers was done with my thumb by gently pushing inwards. Then the closure with chromic gut 4-0 resorbable interrupted sutures.

Happy guys!
So the question that I get asked a lot, how did I get the multi-unit abutments (MUAs) so close to be parallel?? Does it matter??

Being done not guided, I put a lot of effort in details to facilitate the restorative part, so yes it does matter.

For the alignments of the MUAs, first and most importantly implants must have a torque greater than 35 Ncm, preferably 45+Ncm. If not, you may loose primary stability. Gently use a torque wrench, either clockwise or anticlockwise on the implants platform, try the MUAs intraorally until you reach the favorable angulation. Start with the center anterior MUA then work your way to the back. Make sure you stand up and look straight at the patient’s facial midline for alignment. Cheers!
