There are moments in life when recognition becomes so much more than an award.
Nine years ago, when I first arrived in Dallas, I picked up a copy of D Magazine and quietly told myself, “One day, I’ll be featured in these pages.” That dream became a reality—not because awards define success, but because they remind us that our dedication, sacrifices, and commitment to serving others are seen.
This year, that recognition carries a meaning I never expected.
After my fall and the months that followed, there were days I questioned whether I would ever return to the profession I love. During that season, reminders of the lives I had touched and the community I had served became part of what kept me moving forward. Being recognized by D Magazine reminded me that purpose doesn’t disappear during life’s hardest chapters.
I couldn’t miss the opportunity to celebrate with the incredible D Magazine team, my peers, and the people who have walked this journey beside me.
While my name may be on the award, this recognition belongs to my entire team. Every assistant, every future dental professional, every teammate who has stood beside me—they are part of this story. Success is never built alone.
