Community Dental Care of Texas

Community Dental Care of Texas Founded in 1963 as a program of the City of Dallas and incorporated in 1982 as Dental Health Programs We call this all-in approach Preventistry®.

Community Dental Care of Texas has received generous support from private foundations, charitable donations, and city, state and federal grants. With this funding, Community Dental Care of Texas offers three major programs designed to serve those with little-to-no access to dental care.

1. The Ryan White Program provides grant subsidized services to those with low to moderate income individuals

living with HIV and AIDS.

2. Title V, which provides free services to low income children and pregnant women who are not eligible for Medicaid or CHIP.

3. A sliding fee scale program that reduces self-pay fees based on client’s income. Community Dental Care of Texas locations are affiliated care delivery practices of Advantage Dental Oral Health Center. Advantage Dental and affiliates are comprised of 70+ practices, over 200 providers and more than 800 support employees. Located throughout six states, our network of practices provide care to over a quarter of a million patients annually. Together we share a mission: To improve the oral health of all. Community Dental Care of Texas, Advantage Dental Oral Health Center and other affiliated practices across the United States are working to revolutionize oral health care for all. To do this, we take a unique, industry-leading approach to care delivery by creating lasting healthy outcomes through positive dental experiences. We recognize health care is not “one-size-fits-all”; each person should have a personalized treatment plan. So, let’s get this partnership started, get you and your family the Preventistry experience you deserve, and create a personalized treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and overall health goals.

Protect your heart this by taking care of your oral health.

Poor oral health puts a person at risk of developing heart disease. Gum disease can cause bad bacteria to enter the blood stream causing arteries to build up plaque and harden. This can lead to blood flow problems, heart blockages and an increased risk of having a heart attack.

Roughly 75% of school children worldwide have dental cavities, making it the number one chronic disease in children; it’s 5x more common than asthma and 7x more common than hay fever.

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and this year’s theme is “Sealant Make Sense.”

Sealants are a thin protective coating painted on the back teeth to protect from decay. They are a quick and painless way to significantly reduce the risk of dental decay (cavities)!

Ask your child’s dentist if sealants are right for your family!
