Meet Tf 🦠
Its full name is Tannerella forsythia, but Tf is much easier!
Tf is one of the bacteria associated with gum disease, and it tends to show up in deeper gum pockets along with other harmful bacteria.
When Tf is found at higher levels, it can be associated with more advanced inflammation and tissue breakdown. It's also frequently detected when there is inflammation around dental implants.
An easy way to remember this one?
Tf likes deep pockets — and it likes company. 🦠🦠
It's one of the 11 periodontal bacteria included in MicrobeLinkDx® bacterial testing.
