Some weeks remind us just how important community health centers are.
Last week, PrimaryOne Health welcomed several community and elected leaders to our West Broad Health Center, including Senator Bill DeMora, Representative Herceal Craig, Columbus City Councilmembers Tiara Ross, Lourdes Barroso de Padilla, Nancy Day-Achauer, and Julie DiRossi-King, CEO of the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers. Later in the week, Congressman Mike Carey also stopped by to learn more about our mission and the people we serve.
They met the staff and leaders who show up every day with one purpose: making sure everyone in our community has access to quality healthcare.
They heard about the opportunities and challenges facing community health centers, but more importantly, they heard the stories behind our work.
The mother who found support during pregnancy. The patient who finally received the behavioral health care they needed. The family who found a healthcare home when they had nowhere else to turn.
These stories are the heart of PrimaryOne Health. They remind us that healthcare is about more than medicine. It is about hope, dignity, and helping people build healthier futures.
We are grateful to all of our visitors for taking the time to listen, engage, and support the work of community health centers. Together, we are creating stronger, healthier communities across Central Ohio. ❤️
"When leaders take the time to walk our halls and hear directly from patients, providers, and staff, they gain a deeper understanding that healthcare is not just a policy issue. It is a human issue. Every investment in community health centers is an investment in the health, stability, and future of our communities."
