Boston District Dental Society

The BDDS began as the Greater Boston Pilot Group Special Committee at the 2010 MDS House of Delegates meeting.

It was a collaborative effort of the American Dental Association (ADA), the MDS, and the Metropolitan District Dental Society (MDDS) to engage existing members and increase membership among dentists who work and/or live in Boston, and to investigate a viable structure for a future Boston District. The Special Committee was continued in 2011, and it evolved into the Boston Collaborative Group (BCG)

in 2012. Since then, the BCG led 17 events attracting 745 attendees—including continuing education programs, community service events, and networking opportunities. On June 12, 2015, the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) House of Delegates unanimously voted to create a 14th component: The Boston District Dental Society (BDDS). Members of this local District have a primary address in the city of Boston, including the neighborhoods of Allston, Back Bay, Bay Village, Beacon Hill, Brighton, Charlestown, Chinatown, Dorchester, Downtown, Fenway, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Kenmore, Mattapan, Mission Hill, North End, Roslindale, Roxbury, South Boston, South End, West End, and West Roxbury.
