Patients are referred to Dr. Lowden (Specialist in Prosthodontics) not only due to the complexity of treatment, but the sequence of treatment for a successful outcome & long-term prognosis. More often than not, patients present with such oral conditions including:
- Adverse tooth movement
- Compromised dentition (decay, fractured teeth)
- Poor periodontal support
- Tooth loss
has deteriorated hence compromising an ideal outcome. Full mouth rehabilitation is not limited to crowns, bridges and/or implants as dentures require their own set of criteria for success. Dental implants help retain & stabilize dentures allowing them to 'snap' into place, but removed for easy cleansability - both in & out of the oral cavity.

Congenitally missing lateral incisors occur in approximally 2%-5% of the population. Various modalities of treatment include:
1) Maryland bridge
2) Conventinal fixed bridge
3) Removable partial denture
4) No treatment
5) Dental implant

with each having their individual pros & cons. With prpoer pre-treatment planning, treatment sequencing (bone grafting, implant healing and soft tissue contouring, etc..) a dental implant is highly beneficial in comfort, predictibility, aesthetics, function and long-term bone preservation.
