Job description
A family owned and operated business, that is a 3rd party contractor for the gas company that owns the gas meters.
Ideal opportunity for first job candidates, drivers license required.
Inspect natural gas meters and pipes for corrosion, and other abnormal conditions.
Perform visual inspection, clean and scrap old particles off the meter for better protection, and thoroughly paint the whole entire meter to prevent abnormal conditions like corrosion to protect the home and business owner till routine inspection.
Paint natural gas meters and pipes to prevent leaks caused by corrosion, and report leaks if detected during the process.
Follow company policies and Safety & Quality process (i.e., inspect for AOCs scrape, brush, wipe, blow, paint and inspect for missed spots after painting), as outlined in the next section of this document.
Follow defensive driving rules and obey local/state traffic laws.
Meet daily production target of 50 to 60 meters with quality failure rate less than 3%.
Provide good customer service and be a good public face, (i.e., being courteous and pleasant to the homeowners and the public we meet during the work day).
Use the Vehicle Inspection Worksheet, to help track the current condition of company vehicles and report defects/breakdowns.
Account for assigned equipment, tools, brushes, scrapers, paint guns, paint shields, and safety gears daily to ensure that they are clean, safe to use.
Read maps and Street & Trips routes, navigate independently, drive to assigned meters, and stage job sites for safe, timely, and accurate paints.
Confirm the accuracy of meter locations.
Contact Office to help locate and paint meters that are difficult to access or difficult to find.
Paint and/or inspect meters in accordance to company policy to meet or beat client requirements for safety and quality.
Meet daily quota of 50 to 60 meters painted.
Complete and deliver timely, accurate, legible, and clean records of work completed in the field (i.e., production reports and maps with codes noted for each premise visited).
