The inaugural meetings of the ethical Review Board (ERB) and Advanced Studies & Research Board (ASRB) of Bacha Khan Dental College were successfully held today in the conference room of the college.
Research and development cell is being successfully run under the chairperson ship of assistant professor Dr. Tahira Hussain .
During the ERB meeting, Terms of Reference (ToRs), guidelines, and policy matters were distributed among the respective committee members for further development and implementation. Chairperson of the IRB, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Khan, highlighted the scope, responsibilities, and regulatory requirements of the board in accordance with PMDC and HEC standards. Various tasks related to institutional research governance and ethical oversight were assigned to committee members.
Following the IRB session, the ASRB meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Assistant Professor Dr. Ghulam Ishaq. The meeting focused on outlining the framework and requirements of the ASRB committee. Policies regarding faculty research, student research, and external research applicants seeking ASRB certification were discussed and assigned for formulation.
The committee also unanimously approved a fixed monthly meeting schedule. It was further agreed that any member remaining absent from two consecutive meetings without valid justification may be removed from the committee to ensure active participation and institutional efficiency.
The administration of Bacha Khan Dental College remains committed to strengthening research culture, academic governance, and ethical standards in accordance with national regulatory requirements.

A meeting regarding the briefing for the Student Session Tour and Faculty Session Tour in preparation for the PM&DC Inspection was held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 09:30 AM in Haider Hall, BKDC. The meeting was attended by Dean BKDC Prof. Munir Khan, Prof. Sartaj Khan, Assistant Professor Dr. Ghulam Ishaq, Prof. Wajeeha Qamar, Dr. Khaula, committee chairpersons, faculty members, and other BKDC staff. Dr. Rabia Inam Gandapur briefed the participants regarding the student session tour, while Prof. Wajeeha Qamar conducted the faculty session orientation. Important points related to inspection preparedness, departmental coordination, documentation, faculty responsibilities, and student conduct were discussed. All departments and committee members were directed to ensure complete readiness and smooth coordination for the upcoming PM&DC inspection visit.

The fortnightly CPC was conducted today at Bacha Khan Dental College. The topic of discussion was resin bonded bridge, presented by Dr. Sara. Among those present were Dr. Munir, Dean BKDC, Dr. Sartaj, Associate Dean Post Grad, Dr. Awais, and Dr. Ghulam Ishaq. Dr. Sara delivered a detailed presentation covering the definition, indications, design principles, bonding protocols, and recent advances in resin bonded bridges. After the presentation, a question-answer session was arranged, during which the participants discussed case selection, management of occlusal factors, survival rates, common causes of debonding, and cost-effectiveness.

A Grand Closing to Sports Week at Bacha Khan Dental College!

The week-long celebration of energy and sportsmanship came to a wonderful end today with a memorable closing ceremony. We were honored to have Dr. Jawad, Dean of Bacha Khan Medical College, grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.

He was warmly welcomed by Dr. Munir Khan, Dean of Bacha Khan Dental College, whose vision and encouragement made this event possible. The ceremony was attended by the entire faculty, enthusiastic students, and notably, Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Chairperson of the Literary Society, whose presence added great value to the event.

Awards and prizes were distributed among the winning student teams, recognizing their passion, hard work, and unbeatable team spirit throughout the week. It was a true celebration of talent, unity, and the vibrant culture of our institution.

A one-day interactive hands-on workshop on “AI in Assessment: MCQs and OSCE’s Without Technical Flaws” was successfully organized by the BKDC Department of Medical Education. The session was facilitated by Dr. Nowshad Asim, Assistant Professor, IHPER-KMU, who highlighted the effective role of Artificial Intelligence in developing high-quality assessments in medical and dental education.
The workshop received an overwhelming response and turned into a house-full academic activity, with enthusiastic participation from the faculty members of both BKMC and BKDC. The participants remained actively engaged throughout the session, contributing to discussions, group activities, and hands-on exercises with great interest and dedication.
The workshop focused on constructing well-structured MCQs aligned with learning objectives and assessment blueprints, identifying and managing technical item flaws, and designing structured OSCE stations with checklists and rating scales using AI support. The interactive learning environment made the session highly informative, practical, and productive.

Prof. Dr. Munir, Dean of BKDC, delivered the final remarks. He thanked the resource person, organizers, and participants, and emphasized the importance of adopting AI to enhance the quality and integrity of assessment. Certificates were distributed to the attendees, and the workshop was widely appreciated for its practical approach.

A solidarity walk was organized by Bacha Khan Dental College on May 10, 2026, to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, observed nationwide as Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq. The event paid tribute to the historic victory achieved by Pakistan in the Battle for Truth and the sacrifices of its armed forces.

The walk was led by Prof. Dr. Munir, Dean of BKDC, who served as the chief lead. He was accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Head of the Department of Community Dentistry and Chairman of the Literary Society, along with Dr. Raham Zaman, Dr. Yousaf, and a large number of enthusiastic students. The participants gathered at the BKDC Administration Block and marched peacefully to the MMC Administration. Placards honoring the martyrs were displayed, and slogans echoing national pride and the spirit of Marka-e-Haq were chanted along the route.

Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Munir reflected on the significance of the day, recalling the military and moral triumph that restored the nation's honor. Dr. Muhammad Naeem spoke about the vital role of the youth in preserving the legacy of Marka-e-Haq. The walk concluded at the MMC Administration with a collective prayer for the martyrs, the prosperity of Pakistan, and the enduring victory of truth.

A weekly preparatory meeting for the upcoming PMDC inspection visit was held at Bacha Khan Dental college .
The session, chaired by Dean BKDC Professor Dr.Munir khan ,featured a detailed presentation on college infrastructure and facilities by Associate professor Dr.Raham zaman and Dr. Muniba Saleem. The presenters comprehensively highlighted the requirements related to infrastructure, including covered areas, specifications of various laboratories, and essential components of a standard dental setup.
Key gaps and necessary improvements in infrastructure and basic dental establishment were also identified and discussed.
In his concluding remarks, the Dean BKDC emphasized the importance of timely preparedness and updated the forum on priority infrastructure requirements. He assigned all Heads of Departments of basic dental sciences to develop detailed plans for the establishment and upgrading of their respective laboratories and submit them to the Dean’s Office for further processing.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to ensure compliance with PMDC standards and successful preparation for the upcoming inspection.

A meeting was chaired by the Dean of Bacha Khan Dental College (BKDC) to finalize the selection of Staff Editors for the Literary Society.
The interviews were conducted by the Chairman of the Literary Society, Associate Professor Dr. Naeem. Faculty members actively participated in the interview process, and after careful evaluation, the following staff editors were selected for different sections:
