A Mock Long Case Examination was successfully conducted in th department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery following the CPSP examination pattern, providing our postgraduate trainees with an excellent opportunity to assess their clinical knowledge, examination skills, diagnostic reasoning, and overall preparedness for their upcoming postgraduate examinations.

The session was headed by Prof. Dr. Sartaj Khan- Associate Dean Postgraduate (PGME), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Khan- HOD, Assistant Prof. Dr. Saifullah- Trainee Program Director; and Assistant Prof. Dr. Alaf Khan.

Such academic activities reflect our continued commitment to excellence in postgraduate training, structured assessment, and preparing competent and confident future specialists.

Today's Clinical Pathological Conference (CPC) was successfully held at Haider Hall, Bacha Khan Dental College.
The session was presented by Dr. Saira, PGR in Prosthodontics, on the topic "Obturator Maxillofacial Prosthesis." The presentation covered the indications, comprehensive case assessment, treatment planning, and a detailed case presentation, highlighting the vital role of obturator prostheses in restoring function, aesthetics, and quality of life for patients with maxillofacial defects.
The interactive discussion provided valuable learning opportunities for postgraduate trainees, house officers, and faculty members, promoting evidence-based clinical practice and interdisciplinary collaboration.

3rd Academic Council Meeting Held at Bacha Khan Dental College, Mardan

The 3rd Academic Council Meeting of Bacha Khan Dental College, Mardan, was held today under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Munir Khan Hoti, Dean BKDC.

The meeting deliberated extensively on a wide range of important academic and administrative agenda items aimed at strengthening the quality of education, governance, and institutional development. Key matters discussed included:

• House Officer Policy and Prospectus
• Curriculum Terms of Reference (TORs)
• Online Teaching Framework
• Social Media Policy
• Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) Policies and Guidelines
• Ethical Review Board (ERB) Policies and Guidelines
• Internal Assessment and Examination Policy

Following detailed discussions and valuable input from the council members, the proposed policies and guidelines were reviewed and approved in a phased manner.

The Academic Council reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, research promotion, and continuous improvement in dental education at BKDC.

A free dental camp was arranged at Services Public School & College in Shamsi Road Mardan.

The Administration of Bacha Khan Dental College (BKDC) has organized the camp on the request of Principal Services Public School & College Mardan.

A team of Consultants and Students supervised and led by Assoc. Prof. Community Dentistry Dr. Muhammad Naeem and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Yousaf examined the students at the School & College

The students suffeing from different dental complaints were examined during the Camp. Approximately more than 1050 students were examined.

Associate Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem appreciated the efforts of faculty, Doctors and students of the college who took part in this camp.

He said that more such camp will be organized in other colleges/ schools of the areas to aware the masses about the significance of Oral Heath Care and its effect on general health.

Principal Services Public School & College praised the administration and doctors of BKDC for holding the camp on his invitation.

The students and teachers also praised the efforts of visiting doctors and organizers for arranging the camp and appreciated this initiative.

Annual Colgate Gold Medal Ceremony Held at Bacha Khan Dental College, Mardan
Bacha Khan Dental College, Mardan, proudly celebrated its Annual Colgate Gold Medal Ceremony today, recognizing outstanding academic excellence and student achievement.
On this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Anas and Dr. Usman Sultan were awarded the prestigious Colgate Gold Medals in recognition of their exceptional academic performance and dedication throughout their studies.
The medals were presented by Dr. Muneer khan Hoti, Dean, Bacha Khan Dental College, who congratulated the award recipients and delivered an inspiring address to the students. He emphasised the importance of academic excellence, professionalism, hard work, and lifelong learning, encouraging students to strive for higher achievements in their professional careers.
Dr. Naeem, Associate Professor and Chairman Literary Society, also congratulated the awardees on their remarkable accomplishment. He appreciated their dedication and encouraged all students to pursue excellence in academics and personal development.

PMDC Inspection Preparation Activities at Bacha Khan Dental College Mardan
As part of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming PMDC inspection, three focused sessions were conducted today to review institutional readiness and compliance with PMDC standards.
The College Facilities Tour and Research Evaluation session was presented by Dr. Tahira Hussain, Assistant Professor, Department of Orthodontics, highlighting the current status of academic, research, and institutional facilities.
The Biomedical Tour was presented by Dr. Ghulam Ishaq, Assistant Professor, Department of Operative Dentistry, who provided a comprehensive overview of the existing biomedical equipment, materials, and infrastructure across various departments. The presentation emphasized PMDC requirements, identified existing gaps through a detailed gap analysis, and stressed the need for timely fulfillment of deficiencies on a priority basis.
Faculty members and committee participants actively attended the sessions and contributed valuable input toward documentation preparation and quality improvement initiatives.

Bacha Khan Dental College successfully conducted its Monthly Postgraduate Academic Inspection of the
Prosthodontics Department on Friday, 5th June 2026, as part of its ongoing commitment to excellence
in postgraduate dental education.
The inspection was led by the esteemed Dean, Prof. Dr. Munir Khan, along with Dr. Sartaj Khan,
Associate Dean of Postgraduate Education, reflecting the institution's top-level dedication to continuous
academic improvement.
The proceedings commenced with a comprehensive presentation by Dr. Huma Hayat, Trainee Program
Director, who eloquently outlined the academic, research, and assessment activities carried out in the
Prosthodontics ward. She also presented a forward-looking vision with future plans aimed at furthering
the quality of the residency program.
The Academic Inspection Committee — comprising Dr. Ahmed Khan, Dr. Saifullah, Dr. Asim, Dr. Tahira,
Dr. Neelofar, Dr. Waqar un Nisa, and Dr. Asma — participated in a question-and-answer session and
offered valuable suggestions for improvement.
The committee highly appreciated the remarkable efforts invested in enhancing the residency program
and acknowledged the significant strides made toward a stronger, more structured postgraduate
