SmileCurve recently had the privilege of conducting a workshop on “Standardized Photography in Clinical Dentistry” at Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College.
The workshop was designed to provide post-graduate residents and dental professionals with both the theoretical understanding and practical application of standardized clinical photography in modern dentistry. The session covered the importance of high-quality photographic records in diagnosis, treatment planning, case presentation, communication, and documentation.
Participants were trained in DSLR handling, camera settings, lighting techniques, framing, patient positioning, intraoral and extraoral photography protocols, and mobile photography for clinical use. The workshop also included extensive hands-on training sessions where participants practiced retracted intraoral photography, occlusal views, profile and frontal facial photography, and shade documentation under faculty supervision.
Real-time feedback and interactive discussions allowed participants to refine their techniques and better understand the principles of consistency, clarity, and reproducibility in clinical records.
