I have recently been reflecting about my dental practice in the peripheral areas of Gilgit , Baltistan.

I feel happy that i had a chance to impart my services to the communities who had major barriers to better oral health in terms of access .

Honestly speaking our health system needs to work on “upstream approach” to create an optimum level for better oral health. The first step for creating this optimum level is knowing the DMFT index at the national level.

As always, its never given any importance as policy makers think “Oral health “ is a different domain from “General Health”!
