A female patient presented to my clinic today with a six-month history of severe pain. She had previously consulted ENT specialists, physicians, and surgeons multiple times, but the cause of her symptoms remained undiagnosed. She complained of persistent headache, earache, and pain involving the entire left side of her jaw.
Upon dental examination, I found grossly carious left maxillary and left mandibular wisdom teeth. The symptoms were consistent with referred pain originating from these impacted and infected third molars. For the past six months, the patient had been taking painkillers regularly without obtaining lasting relief. She was eventually referred for a dental evaluation, which revealed the actual source of her pain.
Please visit your dentist when you experience any kind of pain in your facial structures, ear, headache, which remains undiagnosed by ENT and physicians.
