Indeed, love to help other people and community knows no boundary. 🦷💙😍
Meet Dr. Richard Zink, a dentist whose commitment to his patients has spanned nearly seven decades.
At 97 years old, Dr. Zink is believed to be the oldest practicing dentist in Ohio, and he continues to care for patients with the same passion that first drew him to dentistry as a child.
His journey began long before dental school. As a young boy, he would play "dentist" using corn cobs, imagining the kernels were teeth. That childhood fascination eventually became a lifelong calling.
After earning his dental license from The Ohio State University in 1958, Dr. Zink dedicated his career to helping people regain their smiles, confidence, and quality of life. More than 67 years later, he is still doing exactly that.
Beyond private practice, he has volunteered his time to provide free dental care for people experiencing homelessness and has worked to make dentures and dental implants more accessible for low-income patients in his community.
When asked what keeps him going, Dr. Zink points to his love of helping others, the support of his family, and a sense of purpose that has never faded.
While many people spend their later years looking back on their careers, Dr. Zink continues to show up for his patients—proving that passion, dedication, and service don't have an expiration date.
He has even said he hopes to keep practicing until he turns 100.
A remarkable reminder that age is not always a limit—especially when you love what you do.
