On 05 December 2025, the Smile Protectors of the 1308th Dental Dispensary, 590th Air Base Group boosted their commitment to excellence as they gathered for a dynamic and empowering Safety Pledge and Safety Standdown!

The Safety Pledge was led by the Smile Protectors Family headed by LTC JEANNE VALDEZ - LINGAN, DS (GSC), Commanding Officer, together with LTC ANDREW E DELA TORRE DS, Safety Officer reaffirming the unit’s steadfast dedication to discipline, vigilance, and operational readiness.

This was followed by the Safety Standdown, headed by COL ANSELMO A TY II, PAF (GSC), 590ABG Group Commander, who delivered powerful insights on cultivating a strong culture of safety across all missions and daily operations.

With renewed energy and unified purpose, the Smile Protectors strengthened their oath to uphold safety in every operation, every procedure, and every mission. 💙✈️

✨ Medical & Dental Civic Action Program | Lumbia High School ✈️🦷

What a meaningful and smile-filled morning at Lumbia High School! 💙🌞

On 19 November 2025, our 1308 Dental Dispensary Smile Protectors—led by LTC JEANNE LINGAN-VALDEZ DS (GSC) Commanding Officer and 1LT RALPH A MAYUGA DS, Administrative Officer—joined the 15th Strike Wing Pre-Anniversary Celebration with the theme: “MVP Trojans @52: Adherence to the Mission, Reinvigorative by Capability, and Transcending with Values.”

Together with nine (9) dedicated dental warriors, the team delivered a mission that truly showcased the PAF’s heart for community service. ❤️

✨ 158 registered dental patients served!
Our Oral Care Preventive Program brought essential dental care and education to the students of Lumbia High School through:

1308th Dental Dispensary Forges Partnership with DOH-CHD Northern Mindanao

In a significant step towards integrating with the local community, the 1308th Dental Dispensary has taken a proactive initiative to build strong foundational relationships in its new home. This comes amidst the ongoing transfer of the 590th Air Base Group from Sangley Point, Cavite City to the Lumbia Air Base in Cagayan de Oro City. Recognizing the importance of collaboration in public health, the Unit is ensuring that its commitment to service extends beyond the base and into the wider community of Northern Mindanao. Leading this important effort is the Commanding Officer of 1308th Dental Dispensary, LTC JEANNE VALDEZ-LINGAN DS (GSC), who paid a courtesy call to Dr. Sulpicio Henry M. Legaspi, Jr., the esteemed Regional Director of the Department of Health Center for Health Development – Northern Mindanao. The productive meeting took place on the afternoon of 18 November 2025, at the DOH CHD–NM Compound in Cagayan de Oro City, setting a positive tone for future engagements and mutual support between the two organizations.

This initial meeting marks the beginning of a promising partnership aimed at enhancing healthcare services and promoting community well-being. The 1308th Dental Dispensary looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with the DOH-CHD Northern Mindanao, working hand-in-hand to serve the health needs of both the military personnel of the 590th Air Base Group and the residents of Cagayan de Oro. Together, we can build a healthier and stronger community.

What’s Up at 1308 PAFDD? ✨
National Teachers’ Month 2025 Celebration

On 03 October 2025, the Smile Protectors of the 1308th Dental Dispensary, 590ABG, led by LTC JEANNE VALDEZ-LINGAN DS (GSC), Commanding Officer, and LTC ANDREW E. DELA TORRE DS, Executive Officer, together with thirteen (13) dedicated personnel, conducted a Dental Outreach Program in celebration of the 590th Air Base Group’s 36th Founding Anniversary with the theme: “590ABG@36: Pusong Malasakit, Serbisyong Wagas, Para sa Dakilang Diyos!”

Teachers of Bagumbuhay Elementary School, Porta Vaga, Cavite City enjoyed free dental check-ups, consultations, and treatments a heartfelt salute to their dedication in shaping young minds. 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

The team also rendered a courtesy call to COL ANSELMO A. TY II PAF (GSC), Group Commander, reaffirming their commitment to oral health, service, and mission readiness. As a token of gratitude, mugs and toothpaste were turned over to the teachers, promoting healthy smiles for those who inspire the future. 💙✨.

Chief of Air Force Dental Service Visits 1308th Dental Dispensary

On 17 September 2025, COL HARVENIO OMAR E VELEÑA VI DS (MNSA), Chief of the Air Force Dental Service (C, AFDS), visited the 1308th PAF Dental Dispensary at Major Danilo Atienza Air Base, Sangley Point, Cavite City.

As part of the visit, COL VELEÑA proceeded to the Headquarters, 590th Air Base Group, for Guest Book signing, assisted by the Group’s Director for Operations, MAJ RHOEL M MATEL PAF. This was followed by the Unit briefing, where the Commanding Officer of the 1308th Dental Dispensary, LTC JEANNE VALDEZ-LINGAN DS (GSC), presented the Unit’s accomplishments, ongoing challenges, and future plans.

The Chief of Air Force Dental Service and his team also oversaw the implementation of the iDentis system for MDAAB personnel, followed by a refresher training session for the dispensary staff. The visit further included a tour of the dispensary’s facilities, highlighting improvements and identifying areas for development.

The engagement concluded with COL VELEÑA’s reaffirmed commitment to strengthening the 1308th Dental Dispensary’s capabilities, ensuring the continuous delivery of excellent dental care services to the Philippine Air Force and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Celebrating 49 Years of Excellence in Service – 1308th Dental Dispensary

On 03 September 2025, the 590th Air Base Group, under the leadership of COL ANSELMO A TY II PAF(GSC), joined the 1308th Dental Dispensary in commemorating its 49th Founding Anniversary. The event, spearheaded by LTC JEANNE VALDEZ-LINGAN DS (GSC), took place at the Officers' Club, MDAAB, Sangley Point, Cavite City.

The celebration commenced with an Oral Health Care Fair, offering free dental services to personnel of Group and 15th Strike Wing. This activity highlighted the indispensable role of the Dental Dispensary in safeguarding the health and well-being of our Protectors and Trojans.

One of the most significant moments of the program was the presentation of awards to outstanding individuals, units, and stakeholders. Their unwavering support, exceptional performance, and meaningful contributions were recognized as vital to the continued success of the 1308th Dental Dispensary.

These recognitions reinforced the Unit’s enduring commitment to excellence and collaboration, strengthening the shared mission of advancing comprehensive healthcare. As the 1308th Dental Dispensary approaches its golden year, its personnel proudly reaffirm their dedication to oral health, service, and national defense—a legacy of almost five decades of unwavering service to the Philippine Air Force and the nation.

Pre-Anniversary activity of 1308th Dental Dispensary CY 2025.

On 29 0830 August 2025, the Dental Team of the 1308th Dental Dispensary, 590ABG, headed by its Commanding Officer, LTC JEANNE VALDEZ-LINGAN DS (GSC), together with eight (8) personnel, conducted a dental mission for the students of the Bagumbuhay Elementary School. This activity formed part of the pre-anniversary celebration of the Unit.
The program commenced with a prayer led by MSg Fesalbon PAF, followed by a lecture on proper handwashing delivered by LTC Dela Torre D, Executive Officer of the 1308th Dental Dispensary, and 1LT Mayuga DS, Admin Officer of the same Unit. This was followed by a toothbrushing drill led by 1LT Mayuga DS, fluoride varnish application administered by the dentists, and the distribution of dental kits and bread from Gardenia. The program concluded with the closing remarks of the Commanding Officer, LTC Jeanne Valdez-Lingan DS (GSC). During the event, the three officers were awarded certificates of appreciation by the head of the school.

The dental mission at Bagumbuhay Elementary School was successfully conducted, achieving its objectives of promoting oral health and providing preventive dental care to the students. The activity was well-organized, effectively executed, and reflecting the strong coordination of the 1308th Dental Dispensary personnel.

Pre-Anniversary activity of 1308th Dental Dispensary CY 2025.

On 26 1400 August 2025, the Dental Team of the 1308th Dental Dispensary, 590ABG, led by its Commanding Officer, LTC JEANNE VALDEZ-LINGAN DS (GSC), together with thirty-four (34) others, arrived at the area along with the Officers and Enlisted Personnel of 590ABG and Air Installation and Air Bse Development Command (AIBDC), and conducted a dental mission for the children of the Calabrian Children’s Foundation Inc. This activity formed part of the pre-anniversary celebration of the Unit and Project SAM.
The program commenced with an invocation, followed by the welcome remarks of the CO, 1308DD. Activities included an oral health lecture, demonstration of proper toothbrushing, simultaneous toothbrushing drill, fluoride application, and distribution of dental hygiene kits. The program also highlighted the message of the Commander, AIBDC, MGEN ANTONIO Z FRANCISCO JR PAF, who served as the Presiding Officer, the turnover of guitars and dental care kits, and concluded with a dance presentation from the children as a gesture of gratitude.

The Dental Mission Program was successfully implemented, achieving its objectives of promoting oral health awareness and providing dental care services to the children. The well-organized program, supported by the 1308th Dental Dispensary and 590ABG personnel, fostered community engagement and strengthened civil-military relations, making the activity a meaningful part of the Unit’s pre-anniversary celebration and Project SAM.
