The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Faculty of Dental Sciences successfully conducted โ€œThe Chemistry of Happiness โ€“ Session 2โ€ on 11th August 2026 at the Faculty of Dental Sciences. The workshop brought together over twenty-one (21) Nursing Officers for an engaging and interactive learning experience.
Mrs. H.K.M.S. Kumari, Counsellor, served as the resource person and provided valuable insights into the science and psychology of happiness. The session focused on practical approaches to
strengthening emotional resilience, promoting mental well-being, managing workplace challenges, and achieving a healthy work-life balance.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, reflections, and the question-and-answer session, sharing their experiences and perspectives. The workshop concluded successfully, with participants expressing appreciation for the practical knowledge and insights gained. The initiative reflects the Facultyโ€™s continued commitment to enhancing staff well-being, personal development, and workplace effectiveness through quality-focused activities.

The Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, was pleased to host a group of elective dental students from the University of Manchester as part of the ongoing academic engagement between the two institutions.

During their visit, the students were provided with valuable exposure to a range of clinical and academic activities within the Faculty, including visits to clinical departments and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery operating theatre. They also participated in interactive discussions on the Sri Lankan healthcare system, oral cancer management, and the Facultyโ€™s outreach and community engagement initiatives.

The visit offered a valuable opportunity for professional learning, cultural exchange, and the sharing of knowledge and experiences between students and staff from both institutions. We are delighted that the programme was a success and look forward to strengthening this relationship further through future collaborative academic activities.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Faculty of Dental Sciences successfully organized a workshop on "The Chemistry of Happiness" on 28 July 2026 at the Faculty of Dental Sciences.

The workshop was attended by over twenty-eight (28) Nursing Officers, who actively participated in the interactive session. The resource person, Mrs. H.K.M.S. Kumari, Counsellor, delivered an engaging and insightful presentation on the science and psychology of happiness, highlighting practical strategies for enhancing mental well-being, emotional resilience, and maintaining a positive work-life balance. The session encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of cultivating happiness in both their personal and professional lives.

The workshop concluded with an enthusiastic question-and-answer session, where participants shared their experiences and appreciated the valuable knowledge gained. The event was highly successful and reaffirmed the facultyโ€™s commitment to promoting the mental well-being and professional development of its staff through quality enhancement initiatives.
