💧🦷 Dry Mouth? Your Saliva Does More Than You Think.

Saliva is an important part of keeping your mouth healthy. It helps protect your teeth every day by:

✅ Washing away food particles
✅ Helping neutralize acids after eating
✅ Keeping the mouth comfortable and moist
✅ Supporting enamel protection
✅ Making chewing and swallowing easier

When your mouth stays dry for a long time, the risk of cavities, bad breath, and gum problems may increase.

Common causes of dry mouth can include:

• Not drinking enough water
• Sleeping with your mouth open
• Stress
• Certain medications
• Some medical conditions

💡 What can you do?

Drink water regularly, avoid excessive sugary drinks, and keep up with brushing and flossing.

If dry mouth continues, especially if you also notice more cavities, bad breath, or difficulty eating, talk to a dentist.

✨ A healthy mouth needs more than clean teeth — it also needs healthy saliva.

🪥 When was the last time you replaced your toothbrush?

Even if you brush twice a day, an old toothbrush may not clean your teeth as effectively as it should.

It may be time to replace it if:

✅ The bristles are frayed or bent
✅ You’ve been using it for around 3 months
✅ You recently had a cold, flu, or other illness
✅ It looks worn or no longer feels fresh

A few simple habits can also help keep your toothbrush cleaner:

• Use a soft-bristled toothbrush
• Let it air-dry upright after use
• Do not share toothbrushes
• Replace electric toothbrush heads regularly

Small daily habits can make a big difference to your oral health.

🦷 Missing a Tooth? Don’t Ignore It Just Because It Doesn’t Hurt.
A missing tooth may seem like only a cosmetic problem, but over time it can affect much more than your appearance.
When a tooth is left untreated:
✅ Nearby teeth may start to move into the empty space
✅ Chewing can become less comfortable
✅ The jawbone in that area may gradually shrink
✅ Your bite can change and place uneven pressure on other teeth
✅ Your smile and confidence may be affected
The good news is that there are several ways to replace a missing tooth, depending on your condition and needs.
Possible options include:
🦷 Dental bridges
🦷 Dentures
🦷 Dental implants
The best choice is different for each patient, so an early dental consultation can help prevent bigger problems later.
✨ Replacing a missing tooth is not only about appearance — it is also about protecting the rest of your teeth and maintaining a healthy bite.

🦷 Do Your Teeth Hurt When You Eat or Drink Something Hot or Cold?

Tooth sensitivity is very common, but it can happen for different reasons.

Possible causes include:

✅ Worn enamel
✅ Gum recession
✅ Tooth decay
✅ Cracked or chipped teeth
✅ Teeth grinding

If your teeth are sensitive, try using toothpaste for sensitive teeth, avoid brushing too hard, and limit very acidic foods and drinks.

But if the sensitivity continues, becomes stronger, or affects only one tooth, it is a good idea to see a dentist. Sometimes sensitivity can be an early sign of a dental problem that needs treatment.

✨ Don’t ignore sensitivity — finding the cause early can help protect your teeth and keep your smile comfortable.

✅ A chipped, cracked, or loose tooth
✅ It has been more than 6 months since your last dental check-up

Early treatment can often make dental care simpler, faster, and more comfortable.

Hello!
Today, we’d like to answer one of the most common questions “What can I do about gaps between my teeth?”
Gaps between teeth refer to spaces between two or more teeth. The appropriate treatment depends on what is causing the gaps.
🦷 How can gaps between teeth be treated?
1. Composite Bonding
Composite resin, the same type of material commonly used for fillings, is added to the sides of the teeth to close the gaps.
- It can be completed relatively quickly and usually requires little to no removal of the natural tooth structure.
- It is suitable for people with small gaps between their teeth.
- One disadvantage is that the material may chip or come off over time and may not maintain its appearance permanently.
2. Orthodontic Treatment
- Braces or clear aligners are used to gradually move the teeth and close the gaps.
- This may be more suitable for larger gaps or misaligned teeth.
- Although orthodontic treatment can be more expensive, it can provide a long-term solution for improving both tooth alignment and appearance.
3. Veneers
- Veneers are placed on the front surface of the teeth to adjust their shape and width, helping to close the gaps.
- They can provide excellent cosmetic results, but a dentist needs to examine your teeth first to determine whether veneers are suitable for you.
- Compared with orthodontic treatment, veneers may be more affordable and can improve the appearance of your smile in a shorter period of time. However, depending on the condition of your teeth, veneers may not be suitable for everyone.
4. If the gaps are caused by gum disease
- Gum inflammation, gum recession, or bone loss may cause gaps to develop between the teeth. In such cases, the gum condition should be treated first.
The most important thing is to determine whether the gaps have always been there or have only recently started to appear. If the spaces between your teeth are gradually becoming larger, we recommend having your gums and the supporting bone checked by a dentist.
Whether through veneers or orthodontic treatment, Hamille is ready to help you achieve a healthier, more beautiful smile. Contact us to schedule a consultation! 🥰
