On January 21, 2026, the Pediatric Dentistry Department at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a community outreach visit to Juniors Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) with the objective of promoting early childhood oral health.
​During the initiative, faculty academic members and group of dental students conducted comprehensive dental screenings for the attending children.
To ensure a collaborative approach to health, parents were provided with detailed written assessments regarding their child’s specific oral health status, raising awareness about potential issues and necessary treatments.
​As part of the department’s commitment to fostering preventative care habits, each child received a complimentary dental hygiene kit, including a toothbrush. This gesture aims to encourage positive oral care routines from a formative age and reinforces the university’s dedication to public health education.

On February 01, 2026 – The Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) successfully organized an international workshop on (Stress reducing strategies in biomimetic direct composite restoration) at TIU/ Dentistry faculty which sponsored by (BRIGHT DENT) company. The event took place at (Ibni sina) hall. The workshop was conducted by two distinguished speakers, Dr. Patrick Calalang from the United States and Dr. Abulla Majid, a respected member of the TIU academic staff.

On January 25, 2026, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) successfully organized a specialized academic workshop entitled “Biomimetic Approach :introduction of adhesive protocol and fiber reinforcement” at the Dentistry Faculty, Hall 400. The workshop was conducted by two distinguished speakers: Dr. Ashley Chung from the United States and Dr. Abulla Majeed, a respected member of the TIU academic staff.

On Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the Master’s thesis defense of postgraduate student Brwa Chapook Abdulla was held in Hall No. 302 at the campus of Tishk International University. The defense took place in the presence of the President of Tishk International University, Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, the Vice President of the University, Dr. Fatih Cura, and the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Jafar Naghshbandi.

The thesis defense was conducted as part of a joint Master’s program between Tishk International University and Hawler Medical University – College of Dentistry.

The thesis, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Fawzi, was entitled:
“Correlation Between Facial Forms of Anterior and Posterior Bolton Ratios in Class I and Class II Malocclusions in a Sample from Erbil City.”

The thesis defense committee consisted of the following members:

Prof. Dr. Trifa Mehemed – University of Sulaimani (Head)

Asst. Prof. Dr. Zaid Dewachi – University of Mosul (Member)

Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Sabah – Tishk International University (Member)

Following a thorough discussion and comprehensive evaluation, the postgraduate student successfully defended the thesis and satisfactorily addressed all questions and observations raised by the committee. Accordingly, the research was formally approved.

On behalf of the Deanery and the Faculty, we extend our sincere congratulations to the postgraduate student on this significant academic achievement and express our confidence in their continued contributions to the advancement of dental research and academic scholarship.
