The Achiever's Day celebration for the batch of 2021-2022 was organised by the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, ABSMIDS on 15th November 2025 at Vimshathi Bhavan. All the students of the batch attended the academically oriented, fun filled programme with enthusiasm and vigour. The best seminar presentations from the batch were judged and awarded cash prizes. The meritorious students of the batch were presented with certificates.

The NSS unit of A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, NitteDU commemorated ‘SAMVIDHAN DIVAS 2025’, on 26th November 2025 at Manana Hall, ABSMIDS. The programme was conducted by NSS Program-Officer for ABSMIDS, Dr Kumuda Rao, who delivered lecture on the “Indian Constitution and its evolution” based on the theme of ‘Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman’. This campaign by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, aimed to deepen public understanding of the Constitution and inspire citizens to reflect upon its core values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. The Hamara Samvidhan - Hamara Swabhiman pledge was delivered to the students by Dr Kumuda Rao.

The Gender sensitization Cell, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences organized a ‘Self-Defense Training Program – Swaraksha for Women’ for the first year undergraduate and first year postgraduate students on 11th November 2025.
The resource person for the workshop was the renowned Martial artist Mr. Karthik S. Kateel and his associate, Mrs. Shobhalatha from the ‘Swaraksha for Women Trust’, Mangalore.

A Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programme titled, ‘Insight into Avenues for Clinical Research’ was conducted by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics on 5th November 2025.

The resource persons were, Dr. Srikanth Mairpady Shambat, Senior Scientist & Group Leader, Department of Infectious Diseases and Hospital Epidemiology, University Hospital Zürich (USZ), University of Zürich (USZ) and Col. Dr. Sonali Sharma, Director Caries Innovate & Research, AIC CCMB Hyderabad, Senior Marketing Manager Value Integration (Essence Network New Zealand).

The chief guest was Dr Marc Emmenegger, Clinical Immunologist, University Hospital Zurich.

A total of 192 participants attended the programme.

The NSS Unit of AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Nitte (Deemed to be University), conducted a “Beach Cleaning Drive” at Ullal Beach premises as a part of the "Special Campaign 5.0 Activities in Swachhata Action Plan by the Special Campaign 5.0" as per the directive of the Ministry of youth affairs and sports, Government of India on 26th October 2025.
About 40 NSS student volunteers, coordinated by NSS Programme Officers of ABSMIDS, Dr. Kumuda Rao and Prof Dr. Avaneendra Talwaar, participated in the cleaning drive. The Chief Guest for the programme, Mr. Santosh Kumar D, Police Sub-Inspector, Ullal Police Station, along with his team inaugurated the Beach Cleaning Drive and addressed the student volunteers.

As per the direction of the Dental Council of India (DCI), an Anti-Ragging Orientation Programme was organized by our institution on 7th October 2025. The programme was conducted under the theme “Ragging-Free College: A Step Towards Academic Excellence”, with the objective of sensitizing students about the serious consequences of ragging and promoting a safe, respectful academic environment.
The session was conducted by the esteemed Prof. Dr. Nidarsh D. Hegde, MDS, PhD, Principal, Government Dental College – JNIMS, Imphal, Manipur and also a
Member of the Dental Council of India and the Anti-Ragging Committee, DCI.

The orientation was attended by all I, II, and III Year undergraduate as well as the I Year Postgraduate students.
