At lifeandlimb.ai, innovation is not just about creating advanced prosthetic solutions — it’s about rethinking the fundamentals to make every movement more natural and intuitive. One of our latest design breakthroughs is the introduction of a non-circular wrist option, in addition to the standard circular wrist, in our prosthetic hand systems. This feature may sound simple, but it makes all the difference. By breaking away from the traditional circular wrist design — often considered the “golden rule” in prosthetics — we have engineered an option that better aligns with the natural anatomy of the human wrist, improving comfort, control, and alignment during daily activities.

The non-circular wrist enhances fit and stability, reducing unwanted rotation to provide users with a more secure and confident grip in various orientations. Furthermore, our design incorporates a manual flex-extension mechanism, allowing for wrist bending similar to human movement, which adds a layer of dexterity that significantly enhances the user’s ability to perform essential activities of daily living. This innovation reflects our continued focus on creating devices that not only restore function but also restore confidence, independence, and comfort.

While we missed being in Delhi for the International Prosthetics & Orthotics Day 2025, marked with a grand celebration, we stand alongside the community in spirit. The event was a testament to the dedication and collaboration that continues to drive the prosthetics and orthotics field forward in India and beyond.

At lifeandlimb.ai, we are proud to be part of this growing ecosystem of innovators, clinicians, and organizations working together to make prosthetic technology more accessible, affordable, and aspirational. We look forward to continuing the conversation, exchanging ideas, and strengthening partnerships with the broader P&O community in upcoming events.

The ISPO World Congress 2025, held from June 16–19 in Stockholm, Sweden, brought together pioneers, innovators, clinicians, researchers, and startups from across the globe in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. It was an incredible opportunity for lifeandlimb.ai to showcase our hero product, bionicli, a multi-articulated prosthetic hand designed to mimic human anatomical function while addressing the needs of underserved populations. Our presence at the congress not only marked a significant milestone for our team but also signaled the emergence of Indian deep-tech in the global P&O arena.

We are especially grateful to the Global Disability Innovation Hub, London, and the Imperial Enterprise Lab, Imperial College London, for their unwavering support in making this possible. From coordinating logistics to enabling impactful conversations at our booth, their encouragement was crucial in helping us make our mark on such a global stage. Their belief in inclusive innovation and empowering early-stage startups has helped teams like ours translate vision into visibility.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Ms. Bindiya Verma, whose energy, resilience, and representation of the Indian startup ecosystem brought an inspiring edge to our collective presence. Her efforts to advocate for South Asian perspectives and showcase frugal innovation models resonated with audiences across continents. Her contribution added great depth to the narrative we shared, emphasizing that impactful design, accessibility, and clinical relevance can originate from regions often underrepresented in global conversations.

The ISPO Congress gave us the platform to network with experts, gain valuable feedback on the bioClasp and bionicli series, and build new partnerships that align with our mission: to create affordable, accessible, and aspirational prosthetic solutions. With each step forward, we remain committed to bringing world-class innovation from India to the global stage—redefining possibilities in the world of bionics.

At lifeandlimb.ai, we’re proud to announce the scaled-up production of our bioClasp series, enabled by advanced Multi-Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D printing technology. This milestone reflects our commitment to delivering high-precision, durable, and accessible prosthetic solutions at scale. The image shown features the bioClasp circuit console, a compact yet powerful housing designed to integrate multiple functions seamlessly into a single module. With designated orifices for a charging port, switch, and LED indicators, the console offers high usability and system transparency. It also features built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatibility, allowing users to connect to the myoConnect mobile application for remote configuration and updates.

The console supports fast charging and has inbuilt short-circuit protection, ensuring safety and reliability for long-term use. A multi-functional switch enables the user to power the device on/off, toggle between modes, and view battery status—all with a simple press. Adding to the user experience, the device offers programmable haptic feedback that can be customized based on the user’s preferences. Whether for indicating open-close actions or providing proportional grip force feedback, this feature helps improve intuitive use.

Further ensuring reliability, a hard reset button—accessible using a standard SIM ejector pin—offers emergency recovery and enhances fault tolerance, keeping user safety paramount.

We extend our sincere thanks to 4DSimulations (Adroitec) for their unwavering support in enabling this vision. Their expertise in MJF printing has been pivotal in helping us realize high-quality, complex designs quickly and cost-effectively.

We’re excited to keep pushing boundaries in prosthetic technology—combining engineering, clinical input, and user feedback to make prosthetics that are intelligent, durable, and tailored for real lives.

At lifeandlimb.ai, we believe that innovation is not just about high-end technology—it's also about creating sustainable, locally-driven solutions that can scale while empowering the communities around us. As we build some of India's most advanced bionic prosthetic hands, our focus remains on strengthening our local manufacturing ecosystem.

A critical example of this collaboration is our partnership with K P Enterprises (aka Suraj Ji), who has facilitated job work and liaison support for one of the most crucial components in our prosthetic systems—the Lamination Ring. This part is a foundational element in our bioClasp AE and bionicli AE models, ensuring that the prosthesis is securely mounted to the socket and fits comfortably on the user’s limb.

Manufactured with precision and care, the Lamination Ring not only plays a key role in mechanical integrity and modularity but also showcases how local vendors can match global quality standards with the right guidance and collaboration. The beauty of local manufacturing lies in its speed, adaptability, and shared sense of purpose—qualities that are vital to a hardware startup operating at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Every locally made component contributes not just to the success of our product but also to job creation, skill development, and a self-reliant tech-manufacturing ecosystem. It’s about more than just parts—it’s about people, purpose, and partnership.

We’re proud to say that some of the most sophisticated prosthetic hands in the world are being built with the hands and minds of local talent. Here's to Made-in-India innovation, powered by local partnerships and a collective vision of a more inclusive future.

At lifeandlimb.ai, we are redefining the aesthetics of bionic prostheses by integrating skin-tone color options directly into the plastic parts of our designs. Our vision is to revolutionize the bionic market by making prosthetic solutions accessible, affordable, and aspirational—and aesthetics play a crucial role in this transformation.

Unlike conventional approaches, we use Multi-Jet Fusion (MJF) technology to manufacture the plastic components of our prosthetic hand, enabling seamless color integration and enhancing the anthropomorphic features of the device. The prosthetic glove is available in 18 different shades, closely mimicking human skin tones to ensure a more natural appearance.

While the concept of color integration is not new, our novel approach to engineering and manufacturing sets us apart. This innovation aligns with our commitment to user-centric design, offering individuals a prosthesis that not only restores function but also enhances personal identity and confidence.

We are a team of engineers, designers, clinicians, and professionals, working together to challenge outdated norms and build a future where bionic prostheses feel truly personalized.
