Meet our first speaker for the 15th World Down Syndrome Day Conference at the United Nations in New York! 🗽✨

We are honoured to introduce Aashi Gupta, a self-advocate from India, who will be presenting on 23 March. As the global Down syndrome community speaks up together to advocate for rights and inclusion, Aashi will be sharing her vital perspective on our 2026 theme: Together Against Loneliness.

In her presentation, "Loneliness to long-lasting relationships," Aashi will explore the spaces where people with Down syndrome often feel isolated—from schools and playgrounds to the workplace. Drawing from her own journey, she will discuss how her family helped build "inclusive ecosystems" and share simple, actionable measures we can all take to create meaningful, interactive communities where everyone belongs.

Loneliness is a significant issue, with studies showing that 39% of people with intellectual disabilities often feel lonely compared to 14% of those without. Aashi’s session is a call to action to replace that isolation with long-lasting relationships.
