I create bespoke one off vintage or vintage style pieces that appeal to a broad audience encompassing couples wanting to enhance their vintage themed/feel wedding with authentic accessories with that extra something from a given era whether that be 1940’s, 50’s 60’s etc. Or ladies day at ascot or a day at the races, an awards ceremony, or a night out on the raz. e current climate vintage offers a refreshing alternative to the same mundane high street fashions that leave a lot to be desired In terms of authenticity. Vintage by its very definition means that you will not find many of the same pieces as they are from a bygone era that can never be matched in terms of quality, workmanship and style. A vintage piece is something to be cherished, not for your everyday use, something special and there is a niche group that truly appreciate vintage, I am one of them. I have always personally been inspired by the styles and fashions from the bygone eras and use elements of these in my dress, the clutch bag being one of these. I recall in my bygone partying days my friends would always comment on my signature clutch bags and platform shoes. When I think about vintage I am thrown back to a time when people took real pride in dressing for the occasion. My parents would be going to church conventions or weddings, I can visualise my mum now in her outfit always accesorised with gloves, hat and clutch bag/purse. My dads suits would be amiss if unaccompanied by braces and a huge velvet or paisley bow tie. Gloves, hats, clutch bags/purses bow ties and braces to me epitomise a special occasion in a bygone area. Vintage and Contemporary working in harmony:
Vintage can be somewhat worn, if an item is 20, 30, 40, 50 years old you would expect some wear. What better way to merge the old with the new? Instead of vintage versus contemporary mesh the two together to have the best of both worlds via the use of the ultimate in contemporary luxury: Swarovski Crystals. Swarovski is the brand name for precisely cut crystals. Using Swarovski Elements crystals, which come in a wide range of sizes and colours, old and new come together to make stand out pieces. Lovingly hand customised (hours of work) to create one offs. Using a keen eye, just enough crystals are added to enhance not to overpower. For those that have not acquired the vintage palette, there are vintage styled items embellished with Swarovski crystals, so again working the concept of old and new but perhaps playing with textures, patterns, shapes and sizes in design again customised perhaps to match an outfit that you already have in mind.
