💜 A special recognition for our wonderful Kim!💜

We would like to give a very special shout-out to Kim, who has gone above and beyond for a patient who attended for an emergency appointment and was going through a really difficult time.

The patient was referred to hospital and was understandably worried about how they would even afford to get there and back. Kim took the time to find a volunteer service that provides free transportation to medical appointments, taking away so much of the stress and pressure for the patient at what was already a very worrying time.

The patient was also unable to afford private dental treatment or finance, but Kim showed such genuine care and compassion in helping them find the support they needed.

This is exactly what Ivy Dental is all about. 💜 It’s not always about the big treatment plans (although we do love those too! 😉). It’s about doing the very best for people, looking after our patients and going that extra mile for those who are vulnerable and need a little extra support.

Well done, Kim. We are so proud of you! 🥰👏

🦷 5 Essential Tips for Complete Oral Health

A healthy smile is about more than just keeping your teeth looking clean. Good oral hygiene helps prevent tooth decay, gum disease and other common dental problems. Here are 5 simple habits that can make a real difference:

🪥 1. Brush twice a day
Brush for around 2 minutes, twice a day, using a fluoride toothpaste. This helps remove plaque and protect your teeth against decay.

🧵 2. Clean between your teeth daily
Brushing alone can’t effectively clean all the spaces between your teeth. Floss or use interdental brushes to remove plaque and food debris from these areas.

🦷 3. Choose fluoride toothpaste
Fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel and makes teeth more resistant to acid attacks that can cause cavities.

🍬 4. Limit sugary snacks and drinks
Frequent sugar consumption gives the bacteria in plaque more opportunities to produce acids that damage enamel. Try to keep sugary foods and drinks to mealtimes where possible.

👩‍⚕️ 5. Visit your dentist regularly
Routine dental appointments allow your dentist to monitor your teeth and gums, identify potential problems early and provide personalised advice for maintaining your oral health.
