Top 7 Tips For A Healthy Easter!

🐣 Brush teeth twice a day for two minutes each time with a fluoride toothpaste, and remember to supervise children’s brushing if they’re under seven years of age
🐣 Enjoy Easter eggs, chocolate and sugary treats at mealtimes, rather than nibbling throughout the day.
🐣 Keep an eye on their chocolate intake. Small pieces are key as they won’t stay in their mouths for an extended period of time.
🐣 When you’ve finished a meal, eat a small piece of cheese – it will help to neutralise the acids that cause tooth decay
🐣 Having a glass of water after they’ve eaten is by far the best drink to give them.
🐣 Children shouldn’t eat their eggs an hour before they go to bed.
🐣 Reducing your sugar intake won’t just benefit your oral health, but can also improve your general wellbeing. Just remember to keep everything in moderation and stick to a good oral health care routine.

How will the lockdown rules affect my dental treatment?

Following this announcement and guidance from the Chief Dental officer we are pleased to see that dentistry is recognised as an essential medical service and that we are encouraged to see patients.

We continue to adhere to strict standard operating procedures and essential cross infection control policies for the protection of our patients and staff.

The announcement also states that patients are allowed to travel in order to receive dental treatment. We emphasise the importance of oral screening and maintenance (gum health) and timely treatment of broken or decayed teeth to avoid unnecessary pain and infection.
