The Dental Suite consists of three dental practices, one in Loughborough, one in West Bridgford Nottingham and one in Leicester city centre. Our Loughborough practice has car park at side of the building. Our West Bridgford practice has on site parking and futher parking on the road nearby. Our Leicester practice is only a 5 minute walk from the train station and bus stops and NCP car parks

One darker tooth can really stand out, even when the rest of your smile is healthy, but it doesn’t always need to be covered with a veneer or crown 💡

For this case, Dr Kiren Johal used internal tooth whitening to gently lift the shade of the darker front tooth and help it blend more naturally with the surrounding teeth ✨

Unlike traditional whitening, which is applied to the outside of the teeth, internal whitening works from the inside out. A small amount of whitening material is placed inside the tooth before it is temporarily sealed. This can then be refreshed over a series of appointments until we achieve a natural-looking shade.

This treatment can be particularly useful for a tooth that has darkened following:

🦷 Root canal treatment
🦷 An injury or trauma to the tooth
🦷 Damage to the nerve inside the tooth
🦷 Discolouration that doesn’t respond evenly to standard whitening

Internal whitening is only suitable for certain teeth, usually those that have already been root treated, so a full dental assessment and X-rays are needed first to make sure the tooth is healthy and the treatment is appropriate.

A subtle treatment, but a lovely difference to the overall smile — without needing to cover the natural tooth.

The planning behind a composite bonding case ✏️

This patient first completed Invisalign treatment to create the ideal foundation. Once the teeth were in the correct position, we could use composite bonding to refine the shape, proportions and overall smile.

This patient wanted to improve the uneven edges, proportions and overall symmetry of their smile while still keeping the result natural and true to them.

Before the final composite bonding was completed, Dr Kiren Johal carefully planned the new tooth shapes using a dental wax-up. This allows the proposed design to be created in advance, so the patient can see how their new smile is likely to look before committing to the final result.

At The Dental Suite, the process typically includes:

✨ clinical assessment, photographs and any necessary scans
✨ bespoke smile planning and a wax-up of the proposed tooth shapes

A proper gap closure transformation 👏

This is one of those cases where the result really speaks for itself.

The patient had quite noticeable spacing at the front, and instead of trying to “hide” the gaps with bonding or veneers, Dr Anna used fixed metal braces to move the teeth into a much better position naturally.

For anyone who has gaps in their smile, it can be one of those things you feel like everyone notices straight away — especially in photos or when you laugh. This kind of treatment is about more than just straight teeth. It can make the whole smile look more balanced, confident and comfortable.

What I love about this case is that nothing has been covered up. These are still the patient’s own teeth, just beautifully aligned and brought together with careful orthodontic planning.

If you have gaps, spacing or feel like your teeth don’t sit quite right, braces could be a really good place to start.
