This is an Invisalign case which took us approximately 12 months, we had an anterior open bite of a few mm as well as a fair bit of crowding, so many dentists will try to correct these cases with anterior extrusion - which is a very unpredictable movement and also difficult. So the right amount of IPR, relative extrusion and posterior extrusion can do the job. Sometimes a little posterior enameloplasty can be helpful too.

In so many cases we recommend aligners or orthodontics prior to bonding to make the result that little better. For some people it’s not realistic wearing aligners 22 hours a day or having braces, so in this case we managed to add some thickness and mask the misalignment

Gaps can be really difficult to fix, you want the width of those front 2 teeth to be the same and the centre to match the centre of the lips and nose.

Sometimes it requires Invisalign followed by some bonding, sometimes bonding alone or Invisalign alone can be the solution.

Building the composite can be more difficult too because we need to be able to perfect those factors above all without a reference or support of neighbouring teeth when adding the composite. My preferred technique is over building one tooth and polishing back, then using that as my guide/reference tooth

Align bleach bond!

A few months of Invisalign followed by some edge bonding here for 6 teeth. We left some small spaces distal to the laterals to make them a little wider and completed some IPR around the central’s to make them slightly more narrow. Careful planning in Invisalign is key to prevent damage to teeth and gum recession as well as ensuring teeth move predictably
