It was an honour to be in Dubai this week examining at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center, for the The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for the Membership in Prosthodontics specialist exit examination.

Meeting old and new friends and colleagues from across the region, and world, has been both inspiring and rewarding, and it’s a privilege to contribute to the professional development of dental practitioners internationally. The learning and reflective opportunities have been immense.

The fantastic facilities, as well as supportive staff, at MBRUniversity really did make the examining process smooth and efficient.

I’d like to thank The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for the professional growth and development opportunities which it is has given me over the many years that I have been affiliated with it.

I look forward to contributing to College’s activities increasingly more over the years to come.

This young lady had a missing upper lateral incisor and had experienced several bridge failures.

A single implant-retained crown was used to achieve a long-lasting, natural result. Contouring the gum and refining crown morphology allowed us to achieve seamless integration and an aesthetic finish.

This young lady originally attended hoping to improve the appearance of her narrow and diminutive teeth.

She was seen with an orthodontic colleague who used braces to initially align her teeth and idealise the spacing between them.

Following this, I used a biomimetic approach to enhance the appearance of the teeth by building them up in white filling materials, developing the teeth into shapes which harmonised with her other teeth and smile curtain.
