Gemma Hawkins has been busy doing some Composite Bonding too for the lovely Elaine!

5 teeth done, Shade to match with existing other teeth, and existing restorations. Always a hard battle to match ceramic to composite- but it has worked well.

Including adding to a retained deciduous tooth! (Baby tooth), as our patient was conscious of this tooth not being very visible.

Unevenly worn smile, transformed to natural and wearable. With Digital Planning from our fabulous laboratory to ensure adequate occlusion.

Composite may stain, chip and discolour over time- but with the best planning, Composite, and maintenance we hope to be able to maintain this result for years to come.

Thank you Elaine for letting us share your lovely result. As people can see the colour temperatures on the photos are different, on different days or with different cameras- but this is just taken with an IPhone, and no adjustments.

Job done! Our lovely nurse Zoe, wanted some composite bonding!

Additive only (No Drilling)- done today as a Free-hand case with a wonderful 'best in the universe' composite.

Our beautiful nurse, Tia, requested us to do Composite Bonding for her front 8 teeth - so we did!

Completed them today! And she is over-the-moon with them! And so are we, so lovely she is happy with them.

Totally additive - so no enamel loss
No Local Anesthesia or numbing

All the planning was done with our lovely Lab Tech, and then confirmed as suitable with a trial smile.

Checked various shades, as she didn’t want to go too white.

We settled on SHADE - BW which stands for Bleach White - but this was barely lighter than her original teeth - and the other shades looked far too dark. One of her original teeth was darker due to an injury as a child.

Using a Stent and Injectable Composite to get the best occlusion in excursions, appearance, balance, and stain-resistance from injectable Composite- we are all very happy with her result.

This is after initial placement, and initial polishing- some finer polishing still to go.

The most important part of Composite Binding is the fine polishing to enable adequate home care, and prevention of staining by providing a gloss finish.

Hopefully these will last for years to come, but they also have the benefit of being removable and replaceable easily if ever required.

This is how severe abfraction and tooth surface loss at the gingival margin of the teeth occurs- not overbrushing as some people are lead to believe.

This video presents it really well.

Also this is why restorations of the teeth can fail when they are covering lesions such as these.
