Recreating an older tooth to blend in seamlessly with the rest of the dentition 🤓
This direct composite restoration was more challenging then it looked to blend it into the remaining tooth. The ‘class II’ was converted to ‘class I’ with a ring of enamel layer- in this case OcE Asteria by .europe followed by a dentine core of EverXflow fibre reinforced composite by … I always use caries detector- in this case the restoration was a lot bigger than the original because of caries removal.
The occlusal surface layer was also with Asteria OcE and shaped using the essential lines concept by
Stain was placed occlusally to mimic an older tooth. This was - Venus Colours choco and amber. Stain can either be placed on the top layer or between the dentine and enamel layers. In this case it was in the top layer.
